Top Tech: Amazon Fire sale sees TV Sticks and tablets fall up to £70 for limited time

By staff30 May 2025No Comments5 Mins Read

Amazon has unveiled a fresh round of deals across its own-brand devices including the Fire TV Stick and Fire tablets with savings of £70 up for grabs on select models

Amazon tablet and Fire TV Stick
There’s some hefty discounts for Amazon customers upgrading their tech

Amazon has been quietly cutting prices across its own-brand range of tech, with plenty of discounts up for grabs on Fire TV Sticks and Fire tablets. There’s discounts on every model of the retail giant’s flagship streaming stick, including the Fire TV Stick 4K Max and its ‘most powerful’ tablet, the Fire Max 11.

We’ve also spotted a handful of deals on Echo speakers including the latest Echo Pop and Echo Dot Kids, which are down to £29.99 and £44.99 respectively. But in today’s edition of Top Tech, we’re focusing on a selection of price drops across the Fire TV Stick and Fire tablet range.

There’s savings of up to £70 on offer for those on the hunt for the best pay day deal, with options suited for any budget. However, Amazon has not confirmed for how long the deals will be sticking around.

Amazon Fire TV Sticks

Amazon has dropped the price of every Fire TV stick model

Brits looking to upgrade their TV can bag a bargain across Amazon’s entire Fire TV Stick range, with savings of up to 29%. The largest discounts are on the Fire TV Stick 4K and 4K Max, both of which are now £20 off at £39.99 and £49.99 respectively.

There’s also £30 off the Fire TV Cube, Amazon’s 4K Ultra HD box that’s down from £139.99 to £109.99, while the most affordable Fire TV Stick HD is down from £39.99 to £29.99. But the 4K Max is our top pick as it’s touted as Amazon’s ‘most powerful’ streaming stick.

It offers easy access to countless films and series on streaming apps like Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ and Apple TV+ with 4K Ultra HD picture quality and Dolby Atmos audio. It also boasts 16GB of storage – twice that of other models – so there’s more room for apps, games and software updates.

However, keep in mind that those wanting to stream with the likes of Disney+, Prime Video or Apple TV+ will need paid subscriptions directly with the streamers as they are not included for free. Another of our favourite streaming options is Sky’s £15 Essential TV bundle, which comes with more than 100 channels such as Sky Atlantic, alongside subscriptions to Netflix and Discovery+ at no extra cost.

Amazon Fire tablets

There’s up to £70 off Amazon’s Fire Max 11

Shoppers in the market for a new tablet can save up to £70 on Amazon’s Fire range, with the brand’s ‘most powerful’ tablet, the Fire Max 11, reduced from £249.99 to £184.99 – a £65 saving. This is for the 64GB model, while the 128GB model is £70 off at £219.99.

The Fire Max 11 is Amazon’s most premium tablet – which some say rivals Apple’s entry-level iPads – boasting an 11” screen with 2.4 million pixels, a slim aluminium body that’s ‘as thin as a pencil’ and reinforced with strengthened glass. For those looking to keep costs down, Amazon’s mid-range Fire HD 10 is now down from £149.99 to £109.99.

The most affordable tablet in Amazon’s range is the Fire HD 8, which is reduced from £99.99 to £69.99. They offer an alternative to the more expensive gadgets, but those who prefer Apple may want to consider Sky Mobile’s deals, where the new iPad (2025) is available for £10.50 when spreading the cost.

This comes on a 48-month plan and must be paired with a data SIM, but it won’t hurt the wallet as much as buying it outright from Amazon for £309.97 or Argos for £329. But those sticking with the Fire Max 11 can get their hands on what’s been described as Amazon’s ‘best-ever Fire tablet’.

One five-star review says: “A superb tablet. Easy to set up. Lightning fast. Streaming image quality is flawless and the sound is just like surround sound – I’m honestly not sure which is better, the built-in speaker sound or headphone sound.”

However, the same buyer noted a potential downside: “The only negative I can see is the lack of crossover with my Windows anti-virus software.”

But another happy customer said: “Very impressed for the price. I’ve had several Fire tablets that were useful but on the budget side. The Fire Max is a big step up in performance, screen, and build quality provided you can live with the locked-down nature of the device.”
