Top Tech: Virgin Media’s Netflix and 1Gb broadband bundle drops to £1 a day in rare deal

Virgin Media has launched an autumn sale by unveiling a Netflix and ultra-fast broadband bundle that costs £1 per day. The telecoms giant is now throwing in Netflix for free with selected fibre broadband packages that deliver ultra-fast speeds of 1,130Mbps.

The offer is available on two plans boasting average speeds from 500Mbps to a whopping 1,130 Mbps. Customers opting for these plans will receive a free Netflix subscription that saves £143.76 over the course of the 24-month contract compared to subscribing directly at £5.99 per month.

Virgin has cut the price of its fastest broadband plans to their ‘lowest price’ ever, with customers now able to secure 1,130Mbps speeds for £29.99 – equal to roughly £1 per day. However, the company has not yet confirmed when these deals will end.

In a similar vein to EE’s latest offer – of £1 EE TV Entertainment for shoppers who buy its EE TV package with its Full Fibre Broadband. Virgin has also reduced the price of its cheaper plans, with prices now starting at £23.99 for 132Mbps. However, this option does not include a Netflix subscription.

To prevent double-billing, customers with an existing Netflix subscription who use the same email address when signing up with Virgin will have their existing subscription paused. There’s also no setup fee with Virgin’s broadband, which would usually cost shoppers £35, reports the Daily Record.

Virgin Media is giving away a free Netflix subscription with its broadband plans starting at £27.99 per month.

Here are all the deals in Virgin’s broadband sale:

M125 Fibre Broadband – £23.99 per month

  • 132Mbps average download speed

M350 Fibre Broadband – £25.99 per month

  • 362 Mbps average download speed

M500 + Netflix Fibre Broadband – £27.99 per month

  • 500Mbps average download speed
  • Netflix standard with ads

Gig1 + Netflix Fibre Broadband – £29.99 per month

  • 1,130Mbps average download speed
  • Netflix standard with ads
  • Virgin’s WiFi guarantee

Those who sign up to the Gig1 + Netflix Fibre Broadband package will also get Virgin’s WiFi guarantee thrown in for free, promising at least 30Mbps in each room or customers receive a £100 bill credit. But there’s a catch with Virgin’s deals, as like most suppliers, it hikes prices annually, meaning customers face a £4 monthly increase every April.

This means those on the £29.99 tariff will pay £33.99 from April 2026 and £37.99 from April 2027. Despite this, Virgin’s offers trump Sky’s broadband pricing, with its 900Mbps Full Fibre Broadband package costing £40 monthly, which is both slower and pricier than Virgin’s equivalent deal.

Meanwhile, Hyperoptic hands customers up to £300 when they switch to its broadband service, though this isn’t available across the country, so it’s worth verifying coverage on its website. For those remaining with Virgin, the firm has amassed thousands of glowing Trustpilot reviews.

One satisfied customer commented: “I’ve used Virgin before and always preferred their internet speed and left for various reasons. So when I moved house I wanted to re-join them and needed to join on a specific day and got a call on the day I asked for a call. Got an install date a couple of days later and the engineer was the most friendliest, helpful guy ever.”

One customer shared: “I’ve been with Virgin since 2018. My internet and TV almost never go down, and if they do, it’s always fixed within a couple of hours. I’ve renegotiated my contract several times and always got a deal I was happy with. I get the speeds and services as advertised, and although you’ll never get the introductory price again, I’m staying with them for the value of having exceptional service in every way.”

Another customer left a more mixed three-star review, stating: “The customer service wasn’t always the best but generally speeds were good in the years I used them, and stable. The customer service did improve over the years but as did the price.”

While another five-star review reads: “I’ve had the best service from Virgin. I contacted them on Thursday and received my equipment Friday. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Fab service.”
