Elif Ozcan, a 30-year-old DJ from Bolu in northern Turkey, tragically collapsed and died just two days after getting engaged at a ceremony with friends and family
A 30-year-old DJ has tragically died of a heart attack just two days after getting engaged.
Elif Ozcan was with her family for one of the happiest days of her life as she said “yes” to getting married in a ceremony in her home city of Bolu, in northern Turkey. But tragically two days later she collapsed at her home, with paramedics rushing to the scene. She was taken to hospital where she could not be saved.
Local media reports she died from a heart attack and was buried on September 9 in the village of Alıçören, Caydurt. Elif was well known locally for her love of music and her concerts, according to Bolu Olay, with one friend saying she was “a person who lived life to the fullest and spread joy to those around her”.

Another message of condolence read: “We met at a few concerts, so sad may her soul rest in peace. May God look after her family.”
Many other fans of her concerts took to social media to express their sadness. One person wrote: “We will always remember you with that smiling face.”
Another said: “May God have mercy on you and may her soul rest in peace, may God give help to his family”. A third said: “Rest in peace, you left too soon.”
Meanwhile, a 28-year-old footballer and father-to-be tragically died following football training. Maciej Białas had just finished a session and was visiting his twin brother when he became unwell.
He suddenly collapsed, and lost his pulse. His brother Mateusz immediately began resuscitation efforts, and there was a flicker of hope when his heart restarted.
Paramedics rushed him to the hospital, where surgeons removed a clot which had caused a heart attack. Although his heart was beating again, his brain had been deprived of oxygen for too long, leading to brain death.
Maciej and his wife, Wiktoria, were expecting a baby but he died four months into the pregnancy before even learning the child was a boy. He will be laid to rest in Gniezno – east of Poznań, Poland. Maciej played for clubs including Mieszko Gniezno and seventh-tier side Kolejarz Czeremcha.
Kolejarz Czeremcha paid tribute, saying: “A son, husband, brother, our colleague and friend – and above all a wonderful person. He grew up with us in football from the earliest levels, and it can be said he was a homegrown player of our team. He was ambitious, determined, and in training and matches always gave 100%. On and off the pitch, he was an inspiration to many of us.”
