Emergency services scrambled to the Campsie Fells area of Lennoxtown, East Dunbartonshireon on Tuesday evening (September 9) where officers made the tragic discovery
A woman’s body was tragically discovered in a car park at a popular beauty spot near Glasgow.
Emergency services rushed to the scene at the Campsie Fells area of Lennoxtown, East Dunbartonshire, shortly after 6pm on Tuesday, September 9 where they made the discovery. The family of the deceased has been notified and Police Scotland have confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious and a report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal, reports Glasgow Live.
The Campsie Fells are a range of gently rolling hills, set just 19km to the north of Glasgow. The area is popular for walking, hiking and cycling, particularly during the warmer months.

A representative for the force stated: “Around 6.05pm on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, police received a report that a woman’s body had been found within a car park in the Campsie Fells area of Lennoxtown. Her family has been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious, and a report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.”
The woman’s identity has not been shared publicly.
It comes just weeks after the body of Kimberley Johnson, 33, was pulled from a reservoir at a UK beauty spot. Emergency services received reports that a woman was seen “getting into difficulty” in Strinesdale Reservoir at around 4pm on Sunday August 17.
Kimberley’s body was located and recovered hours later at around 6.25pm. The beauty spot features reservoirs, woodlands and meadows surrounded by farmland. Strinesdale is home to a large range of local wildlife and is home to several fishing spots.
