Turkish officials have broken their silence following the mysterious death of Brit mum Beth Martin’s and allegations her heart was secretly removed by doctors.

Mother-of-two Beth Martin, 28, travelled to Turkey with her husband Luke and two children, aged five and eight but on the flight on the way there Beth, from Portsmouth, Hampshire, fell ill. Her symptoms only worsened when they touched down in the holiday hotspot. She was rushed to hospital the next day where she passed away within hours.

Luke said he was shockingly accused of poisoning his wife and was interviewed by local police after she heartbreakingly passed away. He was later cleared but the husband shared how he had been called into speak with police after Beth’s family refused to have her buried the following evening in Turkey, according to a GoFundMe page set up by her family.

Luke paid thousands of pounds to have Beth’s body returned to the UK. After returning to the UK, a pathologist carried out an autopsy on Beth’s body. Her heart was found to have been removed – something which her family claim they were unaware of.

The Turkish Ministry of Health has now released a statement denying allegations that Beth’s heart was taken out. The Turkish health ministry said that Ms Martin died of “cardiac arrest due to multiple organ failure”. It said: “The patient was recorded in the hospital records as a ‘forensic case’ in line with the statement of Martin’s wife that they may have been poisoned by a meal they ate in their country before the trip, and the initial findings.”

Turkish officials also claim that Ms Martin did not undergo any surgical procedure. Her preliminary autopsy was non-invasive and done without any incisions, the ministry said, reports The Sun.

It added: “A preliminary autopsy [without incision] was performed at the hospital in accordance with the forensic case procedure and his wife’s request in this regard. The exact cause of Martin’s death could not be determined with the current findings in the preliminary autopsy, which was carried out with the participation of the Public Prosecutor and the forensic medicine doctor.

“Beth Martin did not undergo any surgical procedures during her treatment at the hospital, and there was no question of any organs being removed.”

Luke has since paid tribute to his beloved wife on social media and said: “It has been the worst and most traumatic week of my entire life. If anyone can take anything away from this… hold your loved ones a little longer, don’t sleep on an argument, take photos, take videos, tell them you love them more.”

Luke’s stepfather, Robert Hammond, has also paid an emotional tribute to his daughter-in-law and said: “Her death has left a hole that cannot be filled as well as a lot of unanswered questions. If these questions were answered it wouldn’t change the fact she’s dead but it would allow you to grieve rather than just feel angry about what did or might have happened.”
