Twitter/X appears to be down for thousands of users across the UK and the world.
Thousands of users of the social media app owned by Elon Musk have reported on DownDetector they are unable to log on to their accounts. The issue seems to have cleared for some people, particularly in the south of England, but is continuing for others further afield.
Users complained of not being able to access the social media app from 7pm tonight. As of 7:18pm more than tens of thousands of users took to Downdetector to complain about having issues accessing it.
An estimated 53 per cent of complaints said they had issues accessing the app while 45 per cent reported problems with the website. Just 2 per cent said they had issues with posting.
X/Twitter outage reports were also reported across the US with the majority coming from major cities, such as New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. South Florida user Toni Airaksinen said: “Site is barely loading on Twitter web, though the app seems fine. Been having issues for 30-40 minutes.”
Dawna Pryor said on Downdetector: “I can’t see any posts on my profile or anybody else’s and I can’t see my followers on the X platform in Massachusetts.” While user OMEGA5680 added: “Good thing for discord and bluesky.”
X/Twitter users complained earlier this month after the site appeared to suffer an outage. Users reported problems with the app from around 9:45am with people around the world including Malaysia, the Netherlands, Italy, the UK, the US, Canada and Australia.
All the users reported being unable to access the app, owned by the world’s richest man Elon Musk.
