UK safari park where you can solve clues from popular Netflix kids’ show this summer

A pair of animal detectives popular with youngsters who watch Netflix have joined a leading UK safari park to keep little ones busy in the school holidays, and The Mirror has tried it out

If you’re struggling to tear your little ones away from their favourite TV show this summer, we have just the solution.

From spotting zebras to rhinos to baboons climbing all over your car, Knowsley Safari Park in Merseyside traditionally offers plenty of wild animals for creature crazy kids to see up close. As well as its Foot Safari and Drive Safaris, there are animal shows featuring sea lions and birds of prey, plus a theme park for mini thrillseekers.

A pride of lions are the attraction’s most famous inhabitants, with TikTok videos showing the kings of the jungle pass by cars with inches to spare much to the delight of drivers and passengers. And this summer, the popular park has stepped things up a notch thanks to to a popular kids’ TV show.

Creature cases

Aimed at young children, Netflix’s The Creature Cases follows the animated adventures of Sam Snow and Kit Casey, a fox and a cat employed as detectives by the Covert League of Animal Detective Experts. The duo travel around the world to solve many mysteries, sharing animal facts along the way.

Now, fans of the show can head to Knowsley Safari for its brand-new Creature Cases: Safari Mission! Inspired by the TV show, the interactive trail is designed for aspiring detectives of all ages.

From now until Sunday, August 3, young agents can explore interactive activity stations and collect puzzles and solve clues to find hints and unscramble a secret word. They’ll then report to the Covert League of Animal Detective Experts HQ at the special Tipi base for crafts, badge-making, and family photo opportunities.

Children who complete their mission successfully will be rewarded with a detective certificate. Creature Cases: Safari Mission is included in the park’s general admission price.

The TV show first aired in 2022 and quickly became popular for its sleuthing skills, science facts and cool gadgets. Aimed at four to seven year olds, its bite sized storylines feature jungle, swamp, desert and island ecosystems populated by geographically accurate animal species.

With temperatures soaring of late, the experts at Knowsley Safari revealed how their animal residents keep cool in the sun, with some surprising facts emerging. Capybaras are expert swimmers so they turn to water and can even sleep in water with just their noses sticking out.

Meerkats have built-in sunglasses in the form of dark marking around their eyes, which deflecting the sun’s rays and reduce glare. And rhinos roll in mud for a natural sunblock.
