Usain Bolt issues two-word remark to athletes vying for his record as new doc drops

By staff24 September 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

Olympic champion Usain Bolt steps into the spotlight in a brand new Disney Plus docuseries – and he has two words to share with hopeful sprinters aiming to top his world records

Fastest man alive Usain Bolt has issued a two-word statement to athletes vying for his title.

The retired sprinter joins fellow sport legends like David Beckham in Disney Plus’ new documentary, Sneaker Wars: Adidas V. Puma.

Now streaming, the three-part series dives into the the iconic sibling rivalry between Puma and Adidas founders, Adi and Rudi Dassler.

The synopsis reads: “With exclusive access to two of the biggest brands in the world, Sneaker Wars: Adidas V Puma, offers an unprecedented, behind-the-scenes look into the fierce, decades-long rivalry between two global sportswear giants, born from a family feud.

“Brothers Adi and Rudi Dassler founded Adidas and Puma, turning their personal conflict into a battle for dominance in the athletic world.”

Bolt’s ongoing partnership with Puma began during his sprinting career, which came to an end in 2017.

Now 39 years old, the eight-time Olympic champion still holds the world record for the 100 metres, 200 metres and 4 x 100 metres relay events.

In the documentary’s first episode, fellow track star Noah Lyles reveals he is aiming for Bolt’s record speed. The American Olympian is among the fastest athletes of all time in the men’s 200 metres.

Speaking candidly, he explained: “I have the fastest topping speed since Bolt, I want to prove that I am truthfully the fastest thing to ever walk on this earth. I mean, who gets to say that.”

But the record holder had concise advice for Lyles and other hopeful sprinters.

When asked what he has to say to those aiming for his records, the Jamaican Olympian simply replied: “Good Luck.”

Since retiring, the father-of-three has settled into family life. However, the legendary athlete has kept an eye on the new age of sprinters and believes they don’t measure up to his generation.

When asked why the new crop of runners are not as fast as previous cohorts despite having access to advanced technology, he told The Guardian: “You want the real answer? We’re just more talented.

“That’s all I’m saying. Of course, it shows when it comes to the men. You can see the women are different. They’re running faster times and faster times. So it shows – it has to be the talent.”
