A matching set is an effortless way to dress for hot weather

When the office starts to feel more like a sauna than a workspace, dressing for the heatwave can quickly become a challenge. That is where a co-ord comes in – a simple, polished set that keeps shoppers cool and comfortable but without sacrificing style.

The Striped Textured Waistcoat and Straight Leg Trousers from Next are perfect for warmer days. With lightweight cotton fabrics and relaxed fits, the white and black striped co-ords offer an easy way to stay fresh and put-together as the mercury rises.

The tailored straight-leg trousers retail at £32, while the matching waistcoat is on a half-price offer, reduced from £28 to £14. Thus, shoppers can get the outfit for £46 instead of 60.

Customers can pick the trousers in either regular or petite length between UK4 and UK26. Featuring belt loops, front pleats and slit pockets, the trousers are perfect for office days and also off-duty holiday fits.

Whether worn as a base layer or layered on top of a t-shirt, this formal waistcoat has a wobbly textured fabric for an elevated look, finished with a button-down fastening.

Those who prefer a less formal look can consider the ASOS DESIGN Textured Straight Leg Trousers in khaki stripe, £28. The pull-on design has a stretch back waistband for maximum comfort.

New Look has reduced the Apricot Cream Pinstripe Wide Leg Trousers from £30 to £20. It features a similar stripe pattern as the Next pair and a full elasticated drawstring waistband.

The Next co-ord is lauded by five-star shoppers, one shared: “Lovely trousers that fit perfectly, love the elasticated part at the back and button front with deep pockets. Nice material and colour. I got lots of compliments when wearing the trousers with the co-ord. They are very light and comfortable and stylish/on trend.”

“Very comfortable. Also, as a short person, the petite version means no alterations were required,” a second wrote while a third loved that the trousers “don’t crease” and “won’t need much ironing”.

But a shopper who purchased the matching vest left a two-star review and commented: “Sizing not in proportion.” Another added: “Lovely trousers, a bit on the small side had to size up but the shirt length was perfect, as I am 5’2”.”

The Next co-ord has been popular among fashion lovers as some prefer to wear the matching set. For those with more budget to spend, Whistles’ Neutral Linen Stripe Waistcoat is crafted from 100% linen and is complemented with flap pockets and a back fastening to gently define the waist.

Aligne’s Jate Striped Wrap Waistcoat, currently marked down from £99 to £49.49, offers a wrap style instead of a button-front design.
