Vicky Pattison labels herself ‘rubbish’ in a rehearsals video shared to her Instagram as a source revealed her ‘imposter syndrome’ could cripple her chances of going all the way
Strictly Come Dancing star Vicky Pattison has labelled herself ‘rubbish’ as she shared a behind the scenes look into her rehearsals, following reports that she is dealing with ‘imposter syndrome’. A source close to Vicky is said to be worried that it will cripple her chances of going all the way and taking home the glitterball trophy.
After her latest performance, Vicky, 37, who is partnered with professional dancer Kai Widdrington, was awarded her highest score to date and was told by lead judge Shirley Ballas that she could potentially make it to the final.
Ahead of the results show tonight, Vicky shared a video to her Instagram where she was struggling to learn the moves to her latest dance, and said “I’m rubbish”. A source close to Vicky has claimed that she has really struggled behind the scenes due to not believing she was good enough to have had some ‘amazing new jobs’, including Strictly.

“Vicky has really struggled with this huge imposter syndrome and her confidence for years, since winning the jungle”, they told Fabulous. The source continued: “She came home to such fanfare, she was making a fortune and landing all these massive and amazing new jobs like becoming a Loose Woman – it was huge for little Vicky off Geordie Shore, she just couldn’t believe it.
“But it was so overwhelming for her, she just crumbled. She really struggled behind the scenes because she didn’t believe she was good enough to be there.”
It comes just days after Vicky opened up about being ‘overwhelmed’ during the rehearsals and said she feels somewhat out of place.
“All the pros are carved like angels, and I’m there sweating away in my gym gear. It’s both intimidating and overwhelming. But as you get older, you don’t often get the opportunity to get out of your comfort zone. I like to prove I’m capable,” she explained.
While she regularly hits the gym, Vicky told Women’s Health that she doesn’t feel so fit when it comes to learning dance moves, admitting: “I think it’s going to be the cardio that lets me down… everyone is so fit.”
Last weekend, she and dance partner Kai received critical reviews from the judging panel. However, it was ultimately Ross King who was eliminated from the show on Sunday evening.
Scottish broadcaster Ross King, best known for his live reports from Hollywood for ITV shows such as Lorraine and Good Morning Britain, has been voted off Strictly, weeks after he became the second-lowest-scoring contestant in Strictly Come Dancing’s history.
Ross was paired with professional dancer Jowita Przystał and was the second person to be voted off after Thomas Skinner, who danced with pro Amy Dowden, was voted off last week.
