Victoria Beckham shares update as David chops vegetables
Sir David Beckham has now returned home after undergoing surgery, with his wife Victoria Beckham having shared an update on the retired footballer this evening. It comes following the news earlier that he had been in hospital.
This morning, Victoria, 51, shared a photo of David, 50, lying in a hospital bed with his arm in a sling. It’s since been reported that he had surgery to address a broken wrist that he sustained more than 20 years ago in a football match.
Hours after her post, Victoria has now suggested that he’s back home from hospital following the apparent procedure. This evening, she shared footage of David stood in the couple’s kitchen in a post on her Instagram Story.
The video shows David, still sporting a sling and bandaging on his arm, at a counter which had lettuce and cucumbers on. He’s seen looking at the produce as Victoria says from behind the camera: “So this weekend’s vegetable content.”
Providing a close-up, Victoria adds in the clip: “Look – he’s overperforming on the cucumber front.” David looks unimpressed before his wife continues by telling viewers: “Look at this!” She then begins to say: “Are they all from the …”
David is then heard reacting to her comment: “I’m not sure you can say that, darling!” Moments later though, he is seen holding up one of the cucumbers as he grins at his wife. Victoria is heard laughing as the footage then comes to an end.
Victoria had announced earlier that David was recovery from an undisclosed health issue. She shared a photo of him lying in a hospital bed wearing a gown and a sling. She wrote over the photo this morning: “Get well soon Daddy.”
Following the news that David had been in hospital, a source told the Mirror that he underwent ‘secret’ surgery to repair a broken wrist. He’s said to have sustained the injury during a friendly football match against South Africa in 2003.
The source said: “It had been giving him problems recently and so he wanted to get it fixed.” They added at the time that he planned to check out of the hospital soon and “hoped” to be able to travel to the US in time for his Inter Miami football team’s next knockout match in Atlanta against his former club Paris Saint Germain in the FIFA World Cup on Sunday.
