Vinted customer shares one thing she finds ‘so cheeky’ when selling clothes

By staff16 August 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

A woman was left mortified after she received an offer on Vinted, accepted it, only to be ghosted by the potential buyer – but what they did next was ‘unbelievably rude’…

Vinted is a great way to sell unwanted items and find reasonably priced treasures of your own – but there’s no denying that sometimes it can be a minefield. One woman shared the thing she finds “so cheeky,” admitting not many people have the guts to attempt it – but it left some viewers of the TikTok gobsmacked.

TikTok user @annabelsarahlouise asked her followers: “Does anybody else find this so unbelievably rude on Vinted?” before launching into a rant about what the anonymous user had done to stress her out. She said that somebody had offered her 40% off, which is the most you can try and reduce the price by, and she accepted.

Annabel explained the shoes were up for £10, and the person had offered £6, and she decided to accept the offer to get rid of them so they could find a new home.

However, once she accepted, and messaged the person to share that she accepted the offer, she was swiftly ghosted by the potential buyer.

Annabel was left confused as they were going to get the shoes for the “minimum price,” so was wondering what the hesitancy was with the purchase.

A couple of days after she accepted the offer and the shoes still hadn’t sold, Annabel decided to message them again, saying: “Hi! Just a reminder to check out on these, I’ll post today! Thanks.”

She said that the person saw the message, and “never replied” to it, leaving her baffled.

But the plot thickened as she woke up to a notification where the person had offered her £4 after she’d accepted £6.

Annabel slammed it as “so rude” that the minimum price had been offered, and then they ignored her messages, and then proceeded to offer an even lower price than she had first anticipated.

“I just don’t understand. If you’re offering a price on Vinted, surely you’re happy to pay that price if it gets accepted, so why are you then offering £4 for a pair of basically brand new Vans?” she fumed.

She noted the price was “cheap to begin with,” so she felt annoyed that they’d been so cheeky.

In the comments, someone wrote: “I do think offers should then go through automatically if they’re accepted.”

Another responded: “I think so, but only if it’s in a certain time frame. I’ve made offers in the past and then the seller has accepted almost two weeks later and sometimes I’m no longer interested, as I’ve found it elsewhere.”

The original woman wrote: “Oh, 100%! Like 24 hours and the deal is off.”

Some criticised the woman for being “too pushy” with the two messages, with one TikTok user sharing: “Personally I think it’s not that deep.

“Accept the offer and let them crack on and either buy it or not. No need to stalk them with unnecessary messages. If they don’t buy then onto the next one. If they really wanted the item they’d buy it straight away.”

One woman shared her bugbear, writing: “It annoys me more when they ask me to send it the same day/next day, like babe, I’m not Amazon Prime. I have a life and my own stuff going on. Obviously, I will always send ASAP, but don’t act all entitled and rude when I say I can’t send it for a couple of days, lol.”
