Virginia Giuffre’s family say she was ‘gaslit’ by UK police and UK and US government

By staff21 October 2025No Comments4 Mins Read

Virginia Roberts Giuffre’s brother and sister-in-law, Sky and Amanda Roberts, have demanded US President Donald Trump release the Epstein Files with the names of those involved unredacted

Virginia Roberts Giuffre’s brother and sister-in-law, Sky and Amanda Roberts, have demanded US President Donald Trump release the unredacted version of the Epstein Files and claimed Giuffre was ‘continuously gaslit’ by the UK police and government.

During a recent interview ahead of the release of the late Giuffre’s memoir, the two called the Epstein scandal “one of the biggest international cover ups in the history of the world.”

They also demanded The Epstein Files be released in full, with names of victims redacted, and names of those involved unredacted. “Every document leak, every email leak, it stinks of a cover up and I think it’s time that we get back and use our voices for good and our government needs to remind themselves they work for us”, they said.

They went on to appeal to Trump, asking him to choose in the interest of survivors.

“Remember that you were elected for this position, that your constituents who voted for you, your constituents, who didn’t vote for you serve every single one of them. This is not a party issue. It’s not a political toy that you or your administration can dangle”, they told Channel 4 News.

“I think we’ve all reached a point across every single aisle where we are asking this of you. You promised from the very beginning of your campaign and even your last presidency that you would be a president that was going to drain the swamp, that was gonna uncover corruption.

“This is one of the biggest cases of corruption. And we are asking you to do the right thing. Will you hold to your promise.”

Sky and Amanda Roberts claimed Giuffre was “continuously gaslit” by the UK Government, Metropolitan Police and the US Government.

Sex trafficking victim Giuffre – who was one of the most outspoken accusers of sex offenders Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell – claimed Epstein and Maxwell trafficked her when she was 17 and flew her around the world offering her up to powerful associates, including Prince Andrew.

Ms Giuffre had claimed that she was forced to have sex with Prince Andrew on at least three occasions when she was 17, including once in London. He has strenuously denied the allegations.

She first alleged abuse by the prince in US court in 2014, and a year later, the Met Police interviewed her about the alleged assaulted in London but did not further investigate the claims.

When Epstein was arrested on new sex trafficking charges in 2019, the Met Police reopened its case following his death but still decided not to investigate.

In 2021, she filed a civil lawsuit against Prince Andrew, who has vehemently denied her allegations and says he has no recollection of meeting her. The Met Police decided again they would not investigate.

In a statement to Channel 4 News, the Metropolitan Police said: “Our thoughts are with Ms Giuffre’s family and friends following her death. In 2015 we were made aware of allegations around non-recent trafficking for sexual exploitation. This related to events outside the UK and an allegation of trafficking to central London in March 2001.

“Officers assessed the available evidence, interviewed the complainant, liaised with other law enforcement agencies who led investigations into these matters and obtained early investigative advice from the Crown Prosecution Service. Following the legal advice, it was clear that any investigation into human trafficking would be largely focused on activities and relationships outside the UK.

“Officers therefore concluded that the Met was not the appropriate authority to conduct enquiries in these circumstances and, in November 2016, a decision was made that this matter would not proceed to a full criminal investigation. That decision was reviewed in August 2019. In November 2019, the Met confirmed that it would remain unchanged.”
