Vogue Williams has responded to fans who were left convinced that she was the owner of an unseen voice from a viral video clip about a complaining Wizz Air passenger
Vogue Williams has been forced to deny she threw a diva strop at an influencer on a flight after TikTok footage went viral.
Accusations flew at the 39-year-old Irish podcaster and presenter when a TikTok star named Paris Johnson shared a video of herself on a busy Wizz Air flight on Tuesday. The younger influencer had filmed herself on a flight from Hungary to London when a passenger heard off-screen began to angrily demand that she stop filming.
When Paris protested, saying she had every right to film herself, the unseen woman could be heard demanding that she didn’t want to risk being filmed herself as she felt she was too “recognisable”. While Paris did not reveal the appearance of the shy budget airline passenger, social media fans questioned if the voice belonged to Vogue – and began to bombard her online as a consequence.
Taking to TikTok herself on Tuesday, Vogue flatly denied that she was the unseen woman in the viral video – insisting that she loves being filmed. She also pointed out that the accent of the complaining traveller did not match her voice at all.
Addressing fans, the My Therapist Ghosted Me star said: “Oh Internet. You strike again. I couldn’t figure out why people kept sending me things saying ‘it’s her, it’s her’, I just thought it was because I have a deep voice.
“And then I found out everyone thinks I’m that woman from that girl’s TikTok video saying ‘don’t film me, don’t film me!’ – Hello?! I love being filmed!”
Highlighting the differences in their voices further, Vogue went on: “That woman also has a Scottish accent which is surprising because Scottish people are so sound. But the woman is not me.”
She then urged social media uses to make better use of their time. She said: “So for everybody trolling me about it – it’s not even me! Spend more time learning a language or something instead of trolling me you’d be fluent in anything. Stop trolling. Start knitting or something.”
She added: “Get lost – it’s not me!” Fans were delighted by her denial – with one jokingly asking in the comments section of Vogue’s TikTok post: “So it wasn’t you?!” To which she replied: “No!!” alongside a string of crying-with-laughter emojis.
Another fan typed: “this reaction video is 10/10 I love being filmed.” While another wrote: “True Vogue stans knew it wasn’t you from the start! I listen to MTGM so much I’d recognise your voice over my own mums lol.”
As well as helming her My Therapist Ghosted Me podcast, Vogue also hosts a second podcast alongside her husband, former Made In Chelsea star Spencer Matthews. However, he quit the show this month – much to the surprise of fans.
The star, who has been married to Vogue since 2018 and share children, Theodore, five, Gigi, three, baby Otto, with her, said: “I’m moving on from this podcast to pursue other business interests and focus on my upcoming challenge. I’ve loved doing this show and it would never have been as popular as it would be without the listeners.”
It has since bee revealed that he is being replaced on the show by Vogue’s sister Amber Wilson – with the podcast due to continue without him. Vogue told her husband as he announced his departure: “I won’t miss you, because I’ll see you at home! Spencer & Vogue will continue and we will keep it in the family!”
