Amy Worsley, 27, is wanted in connection with several shoplifting offences in Hyde, Greater Manchester, that happened between November 11 and December 19, last year
A woman wanted on suspicion of shoplifting hit back at police in a expletive-filled social media post after her mugshot went viral.
Amy Worsley, 27, took to Facebook after her mugshot went viral. Taking to the social media platform, she said: “Ahah ah ahahha f*** what you all have to say you all lick my a*** pictures old n half of use have been in my inbox.”
The post appeared to be in response to an appeal made by Greater Manchester Police (GMP) based in Tameside over the weekend. In the appeal, it was said that Amy Worsley is wanted in connection with shoplifting offences in Hyde that took place between November 11 and December 19, 2024.
GMP in Tameside posted an image of Worsley on social media, the Manchester Evening News reported, adding: “WANTED | Police are appealing for help to trace a wanted woman from Tameside. Amy Worsley (13/02/98) is wanted in connection with shoplifting offences that took place in Hyde on 11/11/24 and 19/12/24.”
Anybody with information regarding the whereabouts of Amy Worsley is asked to contact police by either:”Ringing 101 (999 in an emergency); Go through Live Chat on the main GMP website at https://orlo.uk/AgixQ; Contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111 or go through their website at https://orlo.uk/6Uqnq.”
The incident is similar to a man who was jailed last year for stealing £2 million of Viking treasure. George Whittaker, also known as George Powell, mocked police for the mugshot they used of him in a brand new appea;
The force shared the image in a bid to recall Whittaker to prison for breaching his licence conditions. Whittaker complained he looked “hungover” in the photo shared by Gwent Police in Wales.
He was previously jailed after he failed to declare the unearthed coins, jewellery and silver which dated back to 1,000 years. The Mirror has contacted GMP for comment.
