Fearne Cotton’s tartan waterproof jacket is the perfect pick for rainy autumn weather, and although it’s sold out almost everywhere, we’ve found where all sizes are still in stock
The autumn weather makes a waterproof jacket an essential, and whilst we love nothing more than an ultra-practical pick for things like dog walks, we’ve been on the lookout for something a little more stylish for every day. Thankfully Fearne Cotton has found the perfect option that she shared on Instagram, with fans asking: “Love your jacket. Where is it from?”
Fearne’s exact jacket is Barbour’s Elaine Showerproof Jacket, which you can pick up for £320. However we had to do some serious digging to find a place where it’s still in stock, because it’s sold out in every size just about everywhere.

The jacket is totally sold out on the Barbour website, whilst Liberty only has a size six in stock and Anthropologie only has a size 10 still available. However fear not, because at Net-a-Porter, the Elaine Showerproof Jacket is still available in all sizes from an eight to an 18 so you can snap it up from there.
The jacket itself is perfect for the autumn weather, with a waterproof waxed cotton finish that keeps the rain at bay whilst keeping its boxy oversized silhouette. It also features a contrasting corduroy collar – one of Barbour’s signature details – with a detachable hood and flap pockets that are equipped for the drizzly conditions.
We also love the Elaine Showerproof Jacket’s green and navy colourway, which is perfect for wearing in both the countryside and the city. It also has a slightly cropped length which gives it more of a chic, stylish twist rather than staying exclusively in the practical camp, and has been designed with a slightly oversized fit which makes it great for layering knitwear underneath on colder days.
We also found a similarly chic and practical jacket at Damson Madder, with the Liu Shower Resistant Raincoat available for £135. Available in sizes six to 20 it has a hood and oversized silhouette, but features drawstring fastenings around the waist which let you cinch it in for a more flattering hourglass shape.
For a more traditional waxed jacket style, Per Una’s Waxed Pure Cotton Utility Jacket is £130 at Marks & Spencer and comes in a dark olive colour with contrasting corduroy details. For something longer, the Penweathers Waterproof Trench Coat is £170 at Seasalt Cornwall and has a much longer length which comes past your knees, with a tartan print and removable hood.
However if you want to copy Fearne’s effortlessly cool vibe, Barbour’s Elaine Showerproof Jacket is currently available in all sizes at Net-a-Porter – but we suggest snapping it up quickly, as it probably won’t be long before it sells out there too!
