Weather forecaster reveals exactly where and when ‘widespread SNOW’ could fall

By staff12 October 2025No Comments3 Mins Read

Forecasters have shared which parts of the UK could see ‘widespread snowfall’ in just a few days’ time – while other parts of the country will get wind and rain

Weather forecasters have revealed where some Brits could see “widespread snowfall” in just a few days.

Warm and sunny weather seems to be firmly over for 2025, with winds and rain set to hit most of the country in the coming weeks. And one part of the nation could soon see wintry weather, with snow possibly landing soon.

Netweather’s forecast for October 27 to November 4 states the Scottish Highlands could see “widespread snow” that week. The forecasters said: “Because temperatures are unlikely to vary far from average, there will probably not be widespread snowfall except perhaps over the Scottish Highlands.”

Netweather added that Brits will be hit with wind and rain as the weather becomes colder. The forecaster said: “This period is expected to turn unsettled and dominated by low pressure, probably with mainly westerly winds, and temperatures likely near average in the north and above average in the south-east.

“Depressions are likely to track further south than average, which means that it may be wettest relative to normal in the south, with nearer average rainfall for north-western Britain.”

Despite this wet and windy weather, the forecast said eastern Scotland could get more sunshine than usual on that week. It added: “There is uncertainty over how wet it will be, but a likelihood of it being generally unsettled.

“Sunshine totals often end up above normal in eastern Scotland and north-east England in this type of setup, but below normal in south-western Britain.”

The latest weather maps from WXCharts show that parts of Scotland could be hit with snow at the end of the month. These weather maps suggest some areas in the Highlands might experience around 7cm of snowfall from midday on October 26.

Some parts of northern England and Wales could also see some snowfall that weekend. Weather maps show temperatures will drop starting from Saturday, October 25. Below-zero temperatures are likely in Scotland, while north-western England could see the mercury drop to single figures.

The Met Office’s long range forecast has said the weather between October 26 to November 9 could be temperamental across the country, with wind and rain expected.

The forecast said: “This period is likely to see changeable conditions across the UK with low pressure systems tending to dominate. Showers or longer spells of rain are likely at times, perhaps heavy in places, with some strong winds also possible at times.

“However, there will also likely be some temporary drier interludes at times. Temperatures will probably be close to normal overall.”
