Wedding horror as groom collapses and dies suddenly while dancing with bride

Guests were left watching on in horror when tragic Ashraf Abu Hakam fell to the floor while holding his bride’s hand as the newlyweds celebrated their big day together

A groom suddenly collapsed and died on the dancefloor during his wedding reception.

The tragic moment was caught on video as Ashraf Abu Hakam fell to the ground while celebrating with his new wife. He was holding his bride’s hand when he suddenly fell to the floor. Guests rushed to his aide, but unfortunately were unable to revive him on what was supposed to be the happiest day of their lives.

Doctors later confirmed he had died from a heart attack. Video shows tragic Ashraf and his bride dancing with other guests, as their band plays music and sings. Later he can be seen waving a pole around his head as others watch on, before continuing to dance with his bride.

From nowhere, he suddenly collapses and the joyous atmosphere abruptly changes to shock and then grief. Music and laughter were replaced by screams. He was waving a Saidi stick while his bride carried the matching pole before he collapsed.

Ashraf was described by friends as being full of life and excited by his future. Some recalled celebrating his engagement just a day earlier, unaware that joy would soon turn to sorrow. News of the incident spread rapidly across social media, with hundreds expressing shock and offering condolences.

“May God have mercy on him, and grant him a place in the vastness of His paradise,” one wrote. Another said: “His age cannot delay an hour or advance it for his family and wife; sincere condolences.”

Meanwhile, a mother has accused a wedding venue in the United States of refusing to refund a $18,000 deposit following the sudden death of her son prior to his nuptials. Chris Perry and his fiancée, Kristen Seidel, had booked The Cotton Room in Durham, North Carolina for their wedding, scheduled for October 11.

Tragically Chris passed away in May after suddenly collapsing just one day before his 33rd birthday. His bride-to-be attempted to get a refund, but the venue has so far refused to comply.

His grieving mother Sue told the TV channel WRAL that multiple attempts to meet with the venue and find a resolution have been unsuccessful. WRAL reported the venue classified the money as a non-refundable deposit.

“During that time, we turned away other couples who inquired about booking October 11,” explained Michelle Aldred, the executive director of TC Hospitality Group, which owns The Cotton Room.

“While our deposit policy is non-refundable, we deeply sympathise with the family’s loss and extend our sincere condolences.”
