By staff4 October 2025No Comments10 Mins Read

This week, we’ve rounded up our favourite launches from the likes of Glow Recipe, FatFace, Bare Minerals and more

The scent of pumpkin spice lattes is in the air, golden leaves crunch underfoot, and the sweet sound of Hocus Pocus playing in the living rooms of Halloween lovers echoes; ah, yes, October is here. A month where autumn-lovers can finally unpack their woollen knitwear, knee-high boots and crank up the electric blanket in a bid to keep the chill at bay.

This Weekend Wishlist, our fashion and beauty writers have shared some products they’ve been loving and lusting after that’ll keep our skin hydrated, well insulated, and our blemishes hidden.

Regarding fashion, in this specially curated list, our writers are dreaming of the FatFace Argyle jumper, Pour Moi slippers, and some SpanxShape barrel jeans.

When it comes to make-up and skincare, we’re excited about the new bareMinerals primer re-launch, a new Glow Recipe serum and some TirTir Blurring Concealer.

So, without further ado, here are our latest must-haves.

Lauren’s picks:

Glow Recipe’s Prickly Pear Peptide Mucin Serum – £28

A new Glow Recipe launch always gets me excited, and for fellow fans of the K-inspired beauty brand, they’ll know exactly why. With its juicy, vibrant bottles and gentle, skin-loving formulas, Glow Recipe has a way of turning everyday skincare into something I actually look forward to using.

This week’s drop is the Prickly Pear Peptide Mucin, a serum designed to give skin the ultimate drink of hydration while helping to boost elasticity and leave skin with that signature Glow Recipe radiance. Think a plump, revitalised, bouncy complexion that feels as healthy as it looks.

The early reviews are in, and it’s looking good. This shopper said: “Since trying, it has become a staple in my daily skincare routine! I love how hydrating this is and how smooth, bouncy and soothed my skin feels.”

However, another person wasn’t a big fan of the scent: “The natural aroma of this is very unappealing to me to the point that I held my breath each time I applied it.”

FatFace’s Ali Brown Argyle Knitted Jumper – £59

A new piece of knitwear always feels like a little treat when the chill sets in, and my latest addition is this Argyle Knitted Jumper from FatFace. Argyle is one of those timeless patterns that never really goes out of style – it strikes the perfect balance between preppy and playful.

What I love about this one in particular is how current it feels. The warm brown base taps into this season’s big neutral trend, while the pop of orange running through the pattern adds a fresh, unexpected twist that keeps it from feeling too traditional. It’s the type of knit that’ll work just as well with jeans and chunky boots for weekend walks as it does layered over a crisp shirt with tailored trousers for a smarter vibe.

I’ve also got my eye on Toast’s Marled Argyle Blocked Sweater. It’s expensive at £295, but its abstract Argyle-inspired design with flecky Donegal merino wool is an instant winter classic.

Pour Moi’s Cable Knit Faux Fur Lined Bootie Slippers – £26

It’s getting cold outside, and if there’s one place I cannot stand feeling chilly, it’s my feet. Recently, I’ve been living in these Cable Knit Bootie Slippers from Pour Moi, and honestly, they’re a game-changer.

Lined with the cosiest sherpa that feels like a warm hug for my toes, they keep my feet toasty even on the frostiest mornings. Add in the chunky knit cable finish and the little pom pom trim, and they tick the comfort and cuteness boxes.

I went for the cream pair, which look lovely but, truth be told, they do show marks more easily. In that case, the navy was probably a better option.

Still, these slippers are an absolute must-have for the colder months. It’s unlikely I’ll be taking them off for the foreseeable future.

Eve’s picks:

Carmax Minion Banana Lip Balm – £3.59

With winter in our midst, the colder temperatures will most likely play havoc with our lips, with the air making them dry, crusty, and just a little bit unhappy. A lip balm is always a staple in my makeup bag, and Carmax is a brand whose formulas will always give my dry lips some TLC.

The brand has recently launched a brand new banana flavour in partnership with the film franchise Minions. While it is a rather unique flavour for a lip balm, as opposed to the usual strawberry or vanilla, it smells divine as a banana flavour fan. Plus, it does leave my lips lovely and hydrated.

At £3.59, it also contains SPF15, which is always a bonus. For parched lips, the Lanolips 101 Ointment Multi-balm Butter is incredible and always leaves them super smooth, as well as my desert island product: Korean beauty hero, Wonderbalm.

bareMinerals’ Prime Time Original Foundation Primer – £30

In celebration of its 30th Anniversary year, bareMinerals has brought back into the spotlight its fan-favourite Prime Time Original Foundation Primer – but redesigned. As a clean, gel primer, it delivers a smooth, mattifying base that genuinely leaves my makeup looking pretty flawless – if I do say so myself.

It’s infused with skin-loving ingredients, too, such as vitamins C and E, and gives a natural, blurred effect without encountering the dreaded pilling. It feels unbelievably soft on the skin and creates a smooth base for foundation without feeling heavy at all.

While I’m a big fan of this new formula, some people aren’t best pleased with the upgrade, with one person stating: “I used to love this primer, it was my all-time favourite, but it seems they changed the formula. Not good, not long-lasting makeup looks terrible now! I suggest going back to the original.”

If £30 is a little steep for some, Benefit’s The POREfessional Face Primer is on sale at LookFantastic for £25.60, while Charlotte Tilbury’s WonderGlow primer is £16 for a 15ml tube.

Stripe and Stare Soft Brushed Woven Pyjama – from £50

As soon as I saw these PJs from Stripe & Stare (a brand loved by Fearne Cotton), they immediately went into my winter wishlist. With an adorable red cherry and pink striped pattern, the set is made from naturally soft and smooth-to-the-touch viscose fibres.

Available in a long-sleeve revere collar shirt and trousers or shorts – depending on preference – the pyjamas are described as ‘cool, comfy, and undeniably cosy’ – perfect for this season. The bottoms feature an elasticated waistband that is a bit more chic than usual styles and resembles the top of boxer shorts, complete with the brand’s logo, for added comfort.

What’s more, with every order, the brand states that it’ll plant one tree, giving back to the earth. Available in sizes XS to 4XL, the shirt is priced at £70. The Soft Brushed Woven Pyjama Bottoms cost £65, and the short version is £50.

Now, this does mean that for a PJ set, it’ll be over £100. For those who don’t want to spend that much on sleepwear (and understandably), H&M offers a set of satin pyjamas in a similar style for £37.99. Alternatively, Sainsbury’s Burgundy Striped Slinky Fleece Traditional Pyjama set, for something extra cosy, is £22.

Tiffany’s picks:

Laura Mercier Caviar Hydra-Creme Lipstick – £36

From the turning vines to runway trends, burgundy is everywhere this season. The wine-soaked hues struck me as a new, earthy tone, and I fell in love with it. I have been wearing a New Look burgundy jacket, and recently I tried on Laura Mercier’s Caviar Hydra-Creme Lipstick in shade Prince Street – a brick red with a hint of brown undertone.

My lips tend to dry out in autumn, and to make my cracked lip lines less noticeable, I need a lipstick with a hydrating formula and high pigmentation so that I don’t need to touch up every hour. This Laura Mercier buy certainly ticks those boxes.

It is said to deliver ‘high impact, full coverage colour that makes lips look fuller and more plumped’. First of all, Prince Street is not an ordinary burgundy shade that I expected. While it may appear brighter in pictures, it’s actually a muted plum.

It complemented my skin tone so well, and it glided on effortlessly like butter, which is comparable to my favourite Chantecaille Lip Creme. The lipstick is also refillable; however, I’m not a fan of the case design, and it would be nicer if it were less chubby.

SpanxShape Barrel Leg Jeans – £160

Jeans are a wardrobe staple for many, and this season, the Barrel Leg style is having a moment. Think of it as an upgrade from the wide-leg version, with an exaggerated shape that curves around the hips and tapers in at the ankle, helping to create an illusion of a smaller waist.

Spanx recently launched a new denim range, and its Barrel Leg Jeans (£160) feature its shape-wear technology with medium compression for a shaping effect. I wasn’t sure about the voluminous legs, but I was blown away when I tried them on.

The curved structure holds the shape in place, while the cotton fabric provides four-way stretch, allowing me to sprint in them. Shoppers can find barrel leg jeans at other brands, with Wrangler’s Sleek Barrel Leg Jeans, £100, featuring bold seam detailing and rigid broken twill.

TirTir Glide & Hide Blurring Concealer – £13

The K-beauty trend has not stopped in the UK, and Tirtir has just dropped a new product to pair with its classic Mask Fit Cushion Foundation: the Glide & Hide Blurring Concealer.

The clever dual-head design allows shoppers to use the concealer in a versatile way, with one end serving as a stick concealer to correct wide areas and makeup lines, and the other as a creamy liquid tip to cover narrow areas and blemishes.

Dubbed a ‘miracle in a bottle’ by some shoppers, the two-in-one concealer provides natural-looking coverage that resists creasing, caking, and smudging. The formula is also infused with hydration for long-lasting comfort.

One customer shared: “If you like Haus Labs, you will love this concealer too. The stick side is great for hiding those blemishes, but I would also love to be able to buy the liquid one separately. That is my only negative, I can say, as it is a creamy, dreamy concealer.”

Another, however, found it slightly drying under the eyes. She added: “I just apply it much thinner; the stick is wonderful, it covers blemishes or anything that you need spot-correcting.”

IT Cosmetics’ Bye Bye Dark Spot Concealer is also a dual-action concealer and is available on SpaceNK for £28. Packed with niacinamide, hyaluronic acid and caffeine, this concealer works to brighten and firm the skin.
