A man is fighting for his life in hospital after being stabbed during a fight that broke out in central London – with police flooding either side of Westminster bridge and cordoning it off

Hundreds of police officers have rushed to Westminster Bridge in central London and cordoned it off in both directions after a man was stabbed in front of horrified tourists this morning.
The man is now fighting for his life in hospital and three people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. A fourth person has also been arrested on suspicion of affray. Police say the stabbing was “an isolated incident” and is “not being treated as terrorism”, MailOnline reports.
The Metropolitan Police said officers were called at 10:43am on Sunday, November 24, to reports of a fight on Westminster Bridge. The force added: “Officers, the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance attended and found a man suffering from a stab injury.
“He has been taken to hospital in a critical condition. Three people have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and one person has been arrested on suspicion of affray. Two of them been taken to hospital for minor facial injuries. A road closure is in place. Enquiries continue.”
Images taken from the scene appear to show at least four police cars and three Transport for London ‘Incident Response’ vans flooding either side of the bridge. Witnesses on scene say “hundreds” of cops have descended on the bridge and that a cordon has been put in place.
One passerby took to X posting: “Westminster Bridge closed in both directions. Hundreds of Police at the scene with the Bridge cordoned off. What’s going on?”
Westminster Bridge remains closed on each side, as well as the surrounding roads, while the police carry out enquiries. Buses routes 11, 12, 148, 159, and 453 are currently on diversion.
