Some of the popular dishes making a return this year include the Wetherspoon turkey dinner, which includes four slices of turkey breast, with a pork, sage and onion stuffing, roasted carrots and parsnips, mash, two pigs-in-blankets, peas, cranberry sauce and gravy.
Wetherspoon has revealed exactly when its Christmas menu will launch – including its budget festive turkey dinner.
The pubs chain has announced its Christmas menu will be available from November 12 until December 31 – except for on Christmas Day itself.
Some of the popular dishes making a return this year include the Wetherspoon turkey dinner, which includes four slices of turkey breast, with a pork, sage and onion stuffing, roasted carrots and parsnips, mash, two pigs-in-blankets, peas, cranberry sauce and gravy.
Wetherspoon prices vary depending on the location, but the average price for the turkey dinner this year is £13.99 with a soft drink, or £15.52 with an alcoholic drink. This is more expensive than last year, when it was priced at £11.99 with a soft drink, or £13.52 with an alcoholic drink.
The big cheese burger will also be available and Wetherspoon says it has made it “even more cheesy” by introducing an emmental and cheddar cheese sauce on the side.
The burger already includes Brie slices, topped with two halloumi fries, served with chips, and comes with your choice of patty. In terms of new items, there is a brie and garlic mushroom pizza, available as an 11″ or 8″ pizza.
There is also the new mushroom and garlic burger, suitable for vegans. This comprises of a plant-based patty, garlic and herb sauce, iceberg lettuce, tomato and red onion, topped with mushrooms and served with five onion rings.
Finish off your Christmas meal with a sweet festive treat of a cookies and cream blondie or a giant profiterole. The cookies and cream blondie is a gooey, warm white chocolate brownie, packed with white chocolate and crushed cookie pieces, served with vanilla ice cream and chocolate cookie crumbs.
The giant profiterole is made with choux pastry, generously filled with vanilla cream, smothered in Belgian chocolate sauce and finished with a fresh strawberry.
It comes as Wetherspoon is set to open three new pubs this month – with plans for even more new boozers also confirmed for later this year. The pub chain will open two new pubs in London on September 30.
The first is called The Sun Wharf and this will open at the former London Dungeon site in Tooley Street, London Bridge. The second new London Wetherspoon pub, the Sir Alexander Fleming, will open in Paddington, also on September 30.
Then the third and final new Spoons site scheduled for this month will be called the King of Essex, and this will open in Basildon on September 30. Wetherspoon also recently revealed plans to open 15 new pubs through a new partnership with fish and chips chain Papas.
