Canadian pop singer Justin Bieber shot to fame back in 2009 at the tender age of 13 but 16 years after shooting to stardom, the star’s life appears to have become more difficult
Singer Justin Bieber has fuelled growing concern among his fans in recent months. The Canadian star, 31, who is a dad to baby son Jack Blues, has sparked speculation that his marriage to wife Hailey is on the rocks amid his seemingly erratic behaviour online and in public.
In recent months, the Sorry hitmaker has been see looking frail and despondent as he has been pictured out and about. Online, Justin has left fans worried with his behaviour during livestreams and on Instagram stories. Now, reports suggest that the singer is not ‘eating or sleeping’.
Amid growing concern for the star, Justin’s wife Hailey is said to be feeling shattered and she has reportedly seeks help from the church. Here, we take a look at why fans are so concerned for the singer following his recent behaviour and how much his life seems to have changed in recent years.
Worrying appearance
In recent months, Justin has left his fans increasingly worried for his health and wellbeing – and they are only growing more worried for the star given his glum appearances of late.
Justin has been looking worlds away from his past appearances during the height of his fame and instead appears to have shed a huge amount of weight. His frail frame has left his die-hard fans ‘disturbed’ and the singer has also shaved off all of his hair and is now sporting a buzzcut.
Not only that, the dad-of-one has been seen acting erratic and has been indulging in self-loathing, telling his fans that he ‘hates himself’ as they continue to plead with him to get the help he needs.
‘Drug use’ in public
Justin left fans more concerned than ever after seeming to take drugs in an Instagram post. Last month, he shared six very similar photos of himself appearing to use a bong to smoke what appears to be marijuana.
The shots showed the Canadian singer sitting on a bike, with several quad bikes parked behind him. Justin kept his head down and covered with a hood, layering his hoodie with a navy and purple jacket, paired with loose black trousers and light brown boots.
Justin made a clear glass bong the star of the photos, alternating between lighting it and blowing out huge streams of smoke. In another nod to his apparent drug use, he chose the song Hits from the Bong by Cypress Hill to play in the background. While Justin, however, seemed pleased with his post, fans weren’t too impressed.
“Jesus freed you from that, bro, why are you going back to that?,” one fan asked, with another slamming: “Aren’t you in your 30s? This is a post a 14 year old would make. Man up and be a DAD.” A third agreed: “At least do it discreetly, such a bad role model for your son and fans.”
Justin and Hailey welcomed their first child, son Jack Blues, last August, and the young boy was the main topic of concern. Despite the backlash, the singer continued to share more drug-related content afterwards, rapping about being high and filming himself smoking.
Not sleeping or eating
Further concern is growing for Justin as it has been claimed he is ‘not sleeping’ and ‘hardly eating,’ according to a source. The singer’s frantic spiral is said to be causing wife Hailey great turmoil and now the model has reportedly asked close friends and family to pray for Justin.
An insider, who reportedly knows 28-year-old Hailey through their church, said: “He’s in a spiral. He’s manic, not sleeping, hardly eating, sending frantic texts in the middle of the night. He often doesn’t make a lot of sense, but he is convinced that he does. He doesn’t realise how much help he needs, and everyone around him is really worried.”
Disturbing livestream
Concern amongst Justin’s fans reached an all-time high after he shared a very worrying livestream video. The Baby hitmaker has had fans concerned for months with his behaviour, and the latest video has furthered their worries.
The livestream in question saw Justin play some raw demos for his fans on social media. He was seen rapping along to the lyrics, which were explicit, as he held the camera close to his face and gestured with his hands.
However, it was Justin’s eyes and the look in his eyes have left viewers disturbed, as some suggested he appeared to be ‘high on drugs’ during the livestream. Later in the live video, he covered himself with an orange blanket. One wrote: “It is concerning. I hope he gets professional help. That’s sad.”
“His eyes man. There is literally no soul there anymore. His eyes are dead. His soul is dead. I don’t understand why nobody is helping him,” another added. “He is not okay and it’s so obvious. I really hope he doesn’t have a bunch of “Yes” people in his corner and instead help him. This is sad,” another shared.
Justin admits he hates himself
In an emotional confession, Justin admitted he “hated” himself. He shared in a worrying post: “I think I hate myself sometimes when I feel myself start to become inauthentic. Then I remember we’re all being made to think we’re not enough but I still hate when I change myself to please people,” whilst in another post he said he was “drowning”.
“I was always told when I was a kid not to hate. But it make me feel like I wasn’t allowed to have it and so I didn’t tell anyone I’ve had it. Which made me feel like I was drowning, unsafe to acknowledge it. I think we can only let hate go by first acknowledging its there. How couldn’t we feel hate from all of the hurt we’ve experienced,” he shared in another post.
Hailey ‘asking for prayers’
Hailey, who married Justin in 2018 and with whom she now shares seven-month-old son Jack, is understood to looking for divine inspiration at the church to help the troubled singer, famed for bursting onto the music scene as a teenager and quickly becoming one of the best-selling music artists of all time.
His success then contrasts hugely to the spiral Justin is experiencing now. He has recently been snapped wearing bizarre outfits, posted cryptic memes online suggestive of marital woes and has also shared troubling videos online, too.
Speaking to the Mail Online, the church source claimed: “Hailey has asked everyone around her to bathe Justin in prayer. She can’t pull him out of this. People close to him don’t think even he can pull himself out of this. Only God can help him now. We’ve been here before but maybe not this bad.”
Hailey’s father, actor Stephen Baldwin, appeared to hint at private troubles around one year ago. A born-again Christian, Baldwin shared a post from pastor Victor Marx, founder of All Things Possible Ministries, publicly asking for prayers for the couple.
“There are special challenges that folks in high visibility positions face and also the enemy doesn’t want them to draw closer to Jesus,” read the since deleted post which went on to discuss threats to the couple’s “faith, marriage and life in general.”
“Christians, please when you think of Justin & Hailey, take a moment to offer a little prayer for them to have wisdom, protection and to draw close to the Lord,” Marx added.
While that curious post in February 2024 was said to have ‘angered’ Hailey, the socialite, originally from Tucson, Arizona, is now desperate for help, it is reported. Another source said: “She was putting on a brave face because she doesn’t want to admit Justin has huge challenges he needs to overcome.”
Marriage troubles
Hailey appeared to have unfollowed Justin on social media in the latest twist to their ongoing marital woes this week.
In recent months, speculation surrounding Justin and Hailey’s marriage has been rife, with reports suggesting they are heading for divorce. This was intensified recently when the Baby singer took aim at Hailey with yet another cryptic dig.
It has since emerged that Hailey had ‘unfollowed’ Justin on Instagram. The model and socialite also took to TikTok to reshare a post about being a “terrible therapist”. It came after Hailey liked Justin’s latest concerning post on Instagram. The caption of her cryptic repost read: “I’d be a terrible therapist bc [because] I’d want to see a pic of the person you’re crying about.”
Fans instantly noticed that Hailey had reshared the post as they rushed to the comment section. One penned: “Hailey Bieber reposted.” “I would too if my husband of seven years’ ex-gf released a song about how embarrassing I am,” said another, referencing the recent feud with Selena Gomez.
Earlier this year, it was reported that Justin had unfollowed Hailey on Instagram but it later emerged that the Somebody To Love hitmaker had been hacked on the platform. Justin soon followed Hailey again, and explained on his Stories: “Someone went on my account and unfollowed my wife. S**t is getting suss out here.” But the explanation didn’t ring true to many fans.
Speculation about their romance has been rife after he also unfollowed his father-in-law, Stephen Baldwin. It came after reports that Justin and Hailey had frozen her family out of the life of their son, Jack Blues.
A source told MailOnline: “Hailey had a blowout with her family when her dad asked for prayers for Hailey and Justin, and she told him that she did not want him meddling in her life.” The insider claimed Stephen told his daughter that she wouldn’t have even known the singer it it “wasn’t for him making the introduction”.
“Hailey was not happy about this at all,” they said. Hailey recently disclosed that she isn’t as “super close” with her renowned relatives anymore. Hailey opened up to W Magazine about feeling distant, attributing it to her “very independent” nature and stating: “I’m my own individual now, and I’ve built my own family.”
Team denial
Justin’s representative has denied there is anything untoward going on. They explained that the past year has been “very transformative for him [Justin] as he ended several close friendships and business relationships that no longer served him.”
They went on to say the narrative on Justin’s mental and physical health is “exhausting and pitiful and shows that despite the obvious truth, people are committed to keeping negative, salacious, harmful narratives alive.”
