WhatsApp is rolling out a new update that boosts the privacy of your chats.
WhatsApp is rolling out an important new upgrade that should eliminate worries about sending more private messages via this popular platform.
The Meta-owned service says it is adding a function called “Advanced Chat Privacy” to its app, which is aimed at preventing others from taking content outside of WhatsApp, for those times when you may want extra privacy.
It’s available in both chats and groups and basically means recipients can’t auto-download media to their phone, export chats or use messages for AI features.
Explaining more about the changes, WhatsApp said, “WhatsApp groups are increasingly an extension of our real world networks, some of which are far closer than others.
“We think this feature is best used when talking with groups where you may not know everyone closely but are nevertheless sensitive in nature, like talking about health challenges in a support group or organising your community about something important to you.”

It’s rolling out slowly across the globe from today, so if you don’t see it straight away, don’t panic, as it is on its way to your device soon.
WhatsApp says this is the first version of this feature, and it is planning to add more to it so that it will eventually include even more protections.
