Oasis fans have been issued an update on the band’s next gig following the news that someone died at Wembley Stadium last night after sustaining ‘injuries consistent with a fall’
Fans have been issued an update on Oasis’ next gig at Wembley Stadium, with organisers confirming whether it will be going ahead. It comes following the news that a fan died at a concert held at the venue earlier this weekend.
Oasis have been performing at the stadium in London since last week as part of their ongoing reunion tour this year. Earlier this evening, it was reported that a fan died after sustaining “injuries consistent with a fall” at last night’s show.
The man, said to be in his 40s, is believed to have been sat in the upper tier of the stadium, which has a capacity of 90,000, when he fell. Emergency services attended but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Wembley Stadium has shared condolences with his family and issued an update on the upcoming gig. Organisers have also confirmed that tonight’s concert, which is the last one at Wembley until September, will still go ahead.
A spokesperson for Wembley Stadium said: “Last night, Wembley Stadium medics, the London Ambulance Service and the police attended to a concert goer who was found with injuries consistent with a fall. Despite their efforts, the fan very sadly died.
“Our thoughts go out to his family, who have been informed and are being supported by specially trained police officers. The Police have asked anyone who witnessed the incident to contact them. Tonight’s Oasis concert will go ahead as planned.”
In a statement the Metropolitan Police said: “A man – aged in his 40s – was found with injuries consistent with a fall. He was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.”
They added: “The stadium was busy and we believe it is likely a number of people witnessed the incident, or may knowingly or unknowingly have caught it on mobile phone video footage. If you have any information that could help us to confirm what happened, please call 101.”
Oasis, which includes Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher, have released a statement following the news. The band said that they are “shocked” and “saddened” by the situation, and expressed condolences over the loss.
The statement released tonight read: “We are shocked and saddened to hear of the tragic death of a fan at the show last night. Oasis would like to extend our sincere condolences to the family and friends of the person involved.”
Last night’s concert was the band’s fourth at Wembley Stadium on the new tour. The fifth gig at the venue is still scheduled for tonight and Oasis are then set to return next month for another two gigs after visiting a host of other locations.
The latest run of shows comes after Oasis launched the tour at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff last month. They were then at Heaton Park in Manchester for a series of concerts before taking to the stage at Wembley from July 25 onwards.
