Woman buys £1.50 mystery bag from car boot sale and contents leave her thrilled

A woman who loves to explore car boot sales and charity shops decided to purchase a £1.50 mystery bag – and was left surprised by its contents, wondering what one thing was

A thrifty woman with a penchant for charity shops and car boot sales couldn’t resist the allure of a £1.50 mystery bag. With the growing trend of surprise items like Pop Mart blind boxes, it’s no wonder she was keen to jump on the bandwagon. Becky, known on social media as @beckysbazaar, described the find as a “lovely bit of fun for £1.50”.

At the beginning of her video, she’s heard egging her mum on to grab one too. Curious, Becky queried the seller if the bags were “the same or all different,” to which they replied that each contained unique treasures. The duo snapped up two bags to discover what surprises lay within.

The stall owner, a fan of Becky’s videos, offered her two bags for the price of one, but the bargain-loving influencer insisted on paying full whack for both, which she and her mum eagerly opened beside their car.

Becky’s mum delved into her bag first, unveiling an acrylic mirror wall sticker. Next, Becky let out an “oooooh” as her mum revealed some artificial greenery. The faux vines are perfect for sprucing up bathrooms and bedrooms.

They were stumped by the third item, with Becky hazarding a guess that it might be a hair clip, only for her mum to counter, “No, because there’s no clip”.

Becky speculated they could be “belt loops,” yet certainty eluded them.

Then it was Becky’s turn to delve into her own mystery bag, which she was thrilled to find was also brimming with goodies.

Becky’s haul included a foil fringe curtain, perfect for jazzing up any party. Amongst her finds were some photo pocket pages, which Becky likened to “white cards”.

With a hint of disappointment in her voice, Becky revealed there were additional “belt loop things”.

“Do you think that was worth £1.50?” she queried her mum, who responded affirmatively: “Yeah, I do”.

“Yeah, just for the fun of it,” Becky concurred, with her mum echoing: “Yeah, for the fun”.

In the video comments, viewers chimed in on what they believed the “belt loops” really were.

“The belt loop things are actually for your shoe laces,” one viewer suggested, and another agreed, explaining you “put your laces through them”.

A mystery bag enthusiast commented: “Such a fun surprise for just £1.50! It definitely feels like a bargain for a little mystery.”

Yet, not everyone was convinced of the bag’s value, with some expressing their disappointment through a series of sad face emojis.

Why should you check out car boot sales?

Car boot sales are treasure troves for bargain hunters, offering an eclectic mix of items at prices that are often significantly lower than high street shops.

They’re hotspots for unearthing unique or vintage treasures that you might not find anywhere else, adding an element of excitement and serendipity to the shopping experience.

Plus, there’s always room for a bit of bartering, giving you the chance to snag even better deals.

Opting for car boot sales is also a nod to sustainability, promoting the reuse and recycling of items, which is far more eco-friendly than purchasing brand new products.

Moreover, the ambience is typically welcoming and community-focused, making it a delightful way to pass the time while hunting for deals.
