Alicia Bell flew to Istanbul in a bid to get ‘long blonde hair for her birthday’ and documented the journey on TikTok – a process she praised as ’10 out of 10′
Many Brits have travelled to Turkey in recent years for hair transplants and teeth-whitening procedures – and now there’s another cosmetic treatment that’s becoming increasingly popular too.
Alicia Bell recently headed east for hair extensions that most commonly sees clips secured to natural hair near the scalp, with glue and strips used to sandwich the natural hair and hair extensions together. Natural hair is braided whilst the extensions are sewn through the braids.
Taking to TikTok to document her journey, Alicia began: “I’m heading all the way to Istanbul to get hair extensions, because my hair is really short right now and I really want long, blonde hair for my birthday.”
After a short taxi ride from the airport in the Turkish capital, Alicia found herself in the salon where it took just five minutes for staff to remove her existing extensions. “10 out of 10 for efficiency,” she declared.
Whilst the bleach set in, Alicia enjoyed a meal in the salon before two members of staff began the braiding process. Before long, her extensions – almost down to her waist – were in place and she was left stunned by the result as she flaunted her newfound locks for the camera. “Guys, how unreal is this blend?” Alicia gushed. “Wow, amazing.” She later revealed her head of hair was now a staggering 30 inches longer in length.
One of Alicia’s followers was full of praise for the salon, penning in response: “They slayed this. People don’t realise how hard this is to achieve from where you started! Amazing.”
“Are you saving money traveling to Turkey for hair extensions, I would love to know how much of a difference it is price-wise,” pondered a second. A third agreed, adding: “You could get it done at home for £500. Surely it was more expensive there when you pay for flights and accommodation.”
Turkey-based Luxus offer a basic hair extension package advertised as 65cm length of 150 pieces of hair at a cost of €350 (£290 approx.). The company’s premium package, meanwhile – 200 pieces at the same length is €100 more.
Their website states: “Luxus uses only the highest quality hair for their extensions, ensuring that their clients get the most natural-looking and durable results. The hair they use is sourced from reputable suppliers and undergoes a rigorous quality control process to ensure that it meets their high standards.”
It adds: “In Istanbul, hair extension services are not only limited to adding length or volume to hair but also can help people who have suffered from hair loss due to medical conditions. They provide solutions for those who are experiencing thinning hair, balding, or alopecia. The experts in Istanbul use specialized techniques and products to give clients natural-looking, healthy hair. Hair extension services in Istanbul are the go-to option for those who want to transform their hair into something beautiful and amazing.”
