Woman leaves husband napping on beach and is gobsmacked when she returns

Being near the ocean and other bodies of water can have a calming effect on many people but a woman was in a state of ‘horror’ after leaving her husband to nap for three hours on the beach

A woman has shared her shock and “horror” after leaving her husband napping on the beach for a few hours, only to return and see him in an unexpected position. The ocean is renowned for the positive and calming effect it can have on the mind, leaving many people feeling soothed and relaxed while sitting on the beach.

According to PADI (the Professional Association of Diving Instructors): “Studies have shown that being in and around ‘blue spaces’ like the ocean or lakes can reduce psychological stress and improve overall mental health. Ocean sounds are soft noises with a low frequency and a rhythmic nature.

“They tell our brains that we are safe. Loud, sudden noises put us on alert, but natural water sounds activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which helps us relax and unwind”.

One man was so at peace near the ocean that he fell asleep for three hours. His wife left him napping but when she returned to check on him, the tide had come in and he was up to his neck in water – yet he was still asleep.

The woman captured the moment in a video which shows him initially snoozing with his feet in the gentle, lapping water that only came up to his ankles.

The footage then cuts to three hours later, when she was stunned to find him still dozing yet the water was surrounding him and only his baseball cap-clad head was visible.

She shared the clip on TikTok where, over the top of the footage, she penned: “What’s your [fave] horror movie?

“Prob the one where I left my husband on the beach to nap and checked on him three hours later to find him neck high still napping in the water”.

The video racked up more than 6.6 million views on the hit social media platform, with people flocking to the comments section to share their thoughts.

One person quipped: “Survival instincts of a fart”.

Another said: “He went from resting peacefully to almost resting in peace”.

A third commented: “This is what they mean when they say ‘studies say married men live longer than single men’ yeah, because the wives are constantly saving them from themselves!”

While someone else added: “Either the best nap of his life, or the last”.

Even food brand Heinz weighed in, writing: “Let nothing stop you from taking a nap, even death”.

Another person shared: “I was not expecting him to be in that deep.”

Someone else revealed the initial doubts they had at the start of the video. They said: “‘You’re over reacting on how deep the water is’ oh I stand corrected”.

And another person added: “Anxiety feels like a curse until you realise some people would just straight up die if they weren’t supervised by someone capable of worrying”.
