The woman claimed she had acted in self-defence after years of domestic violence – while her partner insited it was an act of revenge after he tried to end their relationship
A woman who allegedly sliced off her partner’s penis during a row is yet to be arrested as police continue to get to the bottom of the horror incident.
Detectives in Brazil have so far questioned the unnamed woman and are expected to take further action after examining his medical reports. She claims she acted in self-defence after suffering years of domestic violence, while her 36-year-old partner insists she acted out of revenge after failing to accept his attempts to end their relationship.
The incident took place in the early hours of Saturday morning in Saquarema, a municipality in the state of Rio de Janeiro. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital before being transferred to another identified as Nossa Senora de Nazareth Hospital for emergency surgery. The procedure to reattach his severed organ proved unsuccessful, but he is said to be stable.
Sources close to the ongoing inquiry told local media the woman had fled the scene but turned up at a police station on Monday with her lawyer and admitted to using a knife during a row. She told cops she didn’t remember what she had done with the weapon and it has yet to be recovered.
The woman’s lawyer Tiago Camarinha said after her police questioning: “She appeared voluntarily at the police station where she answered all the questions she was asked and agreed to a physical examination. I am confident the truth will come out during the ongoing investigation. We will cooperate fully with the authorities, confident that justice will be done.”
It comes after a Brazilian woman confessed to cutting off her husband’s penis during sex late last year and flushing it down the toilet after reportedly discovering he had an affair with her teenage niece. Diane dos Santos, 34, told cops she acted out of revenge after tying her partner’s hands together using a pair of knickers and slashing his manhood while it was erect with a knife.
She is said to have taken a photo of the dismembered organ before getting rid of it down the loo, and told officers when she handed herself in at a police station near the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo: “Good night, I’m here because I’ve just cut my husband’s penis off.”
An online fundraiser was later organised for Gilberto Nogueira de Oliveira for the prosthetic penis he wanted after Daiane flushed his own down the loo in a fit of jealous rage. Astonishingly, Gilberto confirmed in April he had forgiven his partner and wanted to marry her, around the same time Daiane blamed her horror act on sexual abuse she had suffered as a child. She claimed: “If he wants a wedding I do too. I didn’t fall in love with Gilberto’s penis, I fell in love with the good person he is.”
The same month, a woman was sentenced to seven years in prison by a court in Barcelona after admitting cutting off her lover’s penis by tricking him into thinking she was going to perform a sex act on him. The 38-year-old, named only as Tanya, was handed her jail sentence after striking a last-minute deal with prosecutors.
She convinced her partner, also her boss at a bar in Sant Andreu de la Barca near Barcelona, to cover his eyes with a napkin after promising him to give him oral sex, claiming she didn’t want him to look because it made her feel embarrassed. She then took out a knife she had hidden into her pocket and sliced off his manhood.
The penis slicing incident took place on May 31 2021.
