Thi Kim Tran, 45, was brutally murdered in a suburb of Sydney, Australia, where she was shot and set on fire in a car after being stripped naked, a police investigation found
A woman was stripped naked in front of children, shot and then left inside a car which was set on fire, said a police investigation.
The Anh Nguyen, 29, has been arrested following the death of Thi Kim Tran, 45, who was allegedly taken at gunpoint from her home in Bankstown, in the suburbs of Sydney, and murdered on April 17 after finishing work at a nail salon. She was made to strip naked in her driveway by masked men and put into an SUV which drove off at around 10.30pm.
Ms Tran’s body was found an hour later in the burnt out car around four miles from her home. Police in Australia have said that her son, aged eight, had also been severely beaten with a baseball bat at the family home. Another 15-year-old son had been present as well but he was not injured physically.

And today Nguyen appeared at Bankstown Local Court after being arrested on Thursday and he has been charged with murder. “Inquiries established the woman and children were likely targeted as a result of her partner’s involvement with an Organised Criminal Network (OCN) based in Victoria,” stated a police statement.
And the brutal murder allegedly followed a dispute over stolen drugs said police, reported ABC. Homicide Squad Commander Joe Doueihi said it is believed that Nguyen did not shoot Ms Tran but he did play a part in her death.
“He [allegedly] did this by meeting the offenders beforehand, [travelling] in convoy with the offenders to the victim’s residence,” Supt Doueihi said. “Parking his car in the driveway and knocking on the front door with the three offenders standing behind him armed with a firearm, a baseball bat and with their faces covered.
“He [allegedly] stepped aside to allow the offenders to seriously assault the child and then kidnap and strip the woman naked in the street.”
Detectives found that Nguyen was a “close associate” of Ms Tran’s husband and they were linked to a drug gang. And it is alleged that the pair had upset other criminals due to targeting women and children.
“We don’t see that too often in NSW, it’s extremely rare. I’d say they upset a few people in the criminal milieu because this is not the norm,” added Supt Doueihi.
Nguyen did not apply for bail in Bankstown Local Court on Friday, and he’s now set to appear in Burwood Local Court on November 12.
