Folding up a fitted bedsheet is one of life’s great struggles – but this simple video shows a way to do it in seconds using a clever technique that leaves bedding looking neat and tidy
We all know the headache of trying to fold a fitted bed sheet, so it’s no surprise we’re constantly on the lookout for tips to keep our linen cupboard in order.
Now, we’ve stumbled upon an absolute game-changer – a viral video that’s making the rounds with its ingenious method for neatly folding those pesky sheets. In a snappy 16-second tutorial, we see a woman work her magic starting by grabbing the two bottom corners of the sheet.
She masterfully tucks these inside the top corners before bringing in the sides to meet perfectly in the middle. The bottom third is then folded up to the centre, followed by another fold over before tackling the top third down to complete a long, slim rectangle.
The star of the clip, featured on platform X under the alias Tansu Yegen, then skilfully tucks in the ends and folds over one side again. The grand finale involves cleverly tucking the whole thing into itself – and voila!
The neat package has caused quite a stir online. “I both love and hate these sheets,” confessed one viewer, whilst another heralded the “Nice tip though!” Others chimed in with their relief: “Great tip I never knew how to fold fitted sheets I just curl it!” and “It’s always a tussle to fold these fitted sheets! This looks cool though!”
Some people were a bit sceptical about the bed-making advice. “and I’m still gonna bunch it up and fold it” one person confessed, while another quipped, “I’m sure I will still end up with a fight on my hands! cool tho.” A different user chimed in with, “I’m still so confused! ” This comes hot on the heels of a woman’s divisive bedsheet-changing tip going viral.
Twitter user @Shenanigans_luv suggested: “I don’t know who needs to hear this but you can put two or three fitted sheets on your bed at a time and just remove the top one when it’s dirty instead of always folding them and putting them away.”
The tweet racked up nearly 15,000 likes, sparking a debate. Some were not fans of the idea, with one response reading: “So apparently you don’t sweat when you sleep? Like ever? Ewww girl you sleeping in old grime…” Another horrified user commented, “Dear God I hope you are joking. This is disgusting. Do you layer your underwear too? ” And a third simply asked, “Ok but… sex? ! “.
