A fire has tonight engulfed a historic building in Liverpool.
Videos and pictures being shared widely online show a huge fire has taken hold of Woolton Hall on Speke Road. Drivers have been warned to stay away from the area while at least five fire engines are on the scene.
Smoke from the fire at the Grade I listed building has been seen as far away as Prescot. Woolton Hall is one of the oldest building’s in the city, dating back to 1704, and was added to Historic England’s Heritage at Risk register as a Category A site.
The building suffered by a massive fire in 2019. The cause of tonight’s fire is yet to be revealed.
