You can currently book Northern Lights holidays from £345pp including flights and an Aurora tour

Icelandair has an Aurora Borealis offer on for a limited time only

Icelandair is offering Northern Lights package breaks from £345 per person, but for a limited time only.

The Aurora Borealis, one of nature’s most spectacular exhibitions of beauty, is a natural phenomenon with the viewing season lasting from late August to as late as mid-April. The past year has been a bumper one for the celestial spectacle, as the recurring solar maximum douses the Earth in regular displays of the light show.

This has seen the Lights glitter in the skies above southern England and, on rare occasions, even France. However, if you missed their trip south or want to see them in their full northern intensity, your best bet is to head upwards on the map. There are fewer places further north than Iceland.

Right now, Icelandair is offering a three-night trip to the country from just £345 per person, for dates between 01 November 2025 and 15 March 2026, when booked before September 15.

Here is the itinerary:

Day 1

Check in at Hotel Muli in Reykjavik and get comfortable for your stay in Iceland. Check-in times range between 2-3pm, however hotels generally can store your bags while you take a stroll and explore the charm and allure of Old Town Reykjavik and enjoy the Nordic vibe of the world’s northernmost capital. There’s plenty of lovely restaurants to choose from for a bite to eat.

Day 2

The Northern Lights Hunt tour is booked for late evening and takes you to the best viewing location, as decided by Mother Nature. The Northern Lights might appear just outside of Reykjavik or perhaps from the middle of a lava field an hour’s drive into the countryside. Every tour is unique, which is part of the adventure. A guide will be on hand using the most up-to-date weather and solar activity reports to plan your route. Coaches are equipped with free Wi-Fi. Departures range from 9 to 10pm, depending on the time of year, with hotel pick-ups beginning at 30 minutes prior.

Day 3

It is not just the Northern Lights that make Iceland a top winter holiday destination. You can customise your trip with day tours from the popular Golden Circle tour to snorkelling a fissure between two tectonic plates or spend time snowmobiling on glaciers, visit the steaming geysers or relax in the geothermal Blue Lagoon.

Day 4

Before you jet off home, with Icelandair, there’s more time to explore the capital city or head out into the surrounding towns.

The deal includes the following: Flights to Reykjavík; one checked bag (23 kg) per person; one carry-on bag (10 kg) per person; three nights in a standard double or twin room; hotel breakfast; Northern Lights tour.
