All Freeview users will be treated to a free channel upgrade that finally brings content that Sky customers have been enjoying for months.
There’s a nice update coming to homes with Freeview next week thanks to the launch of a new channel. It’s called Rewind TV and it will offer back-to-back episodes of classic content. This platform actually launched all the way back in May but only if you have Sky in your home. Luckily, that’s all about to change with Freeview users also getting access to Rewind TV from September 18.
Once it goes live, users will be able to tune into popular programmes including 60’s show The Prisoner, comedy series Drop the Dead Donkey and children’s telly including Worzel Gummidge.
Other things to watch include comedy from Whose Line Is It Anyway and Tony Hancock. There’s also the Charmer starring Nigel Havers plus you view factual series as well such as Whicker’s World and World in Action as well.
“Rewind Television is the destination channel for curated classic TV,” the team behind the service explained.
As we mentioned earlier Rewind TV goes live next Wednesday and you’ll find it on channel 95.
This isn’t the only channel upgrade on Freeview this month. Homes are also being treated to a festive update with GREAT! Christmas now live.
It replaces GREAT! Romance (Ch 52) on your telly planner and will be showing endless treats until early January.
Content available at launch includes shows and movies such as Christmas Next Door, The Mistletoe Promise and Miss Christmas.
“The home of Christmas – from September to December! Underneath our tree it’s fit to burst with great Christmas films, ranging from Christmas classics to hidden festive treats,” the team at GREAT! explained.
“And with the biggest collection of Christmas movies on TV, we have enough festive content to keep you in the festive spirit right up to the big day. Together we’ll have a great Christmas.”
You shouldn’t need to retune your devices to get these latest channel updates but if you can’t see them then it might be a good idea to give things a reset.
You can find out how to retune your telly or set-top box here.
