Samsung will push out a major free Galaxy software upgrade next month but only if your phone features on this list.
It’s been a very long time coming but it seem Samsung is finally ready to unleash its latest and greatest One UI 7 operating system to millions across the globe. Until now, this upgrade software has only been available on the firm’s flagship Galaxy S25, S25 Plus and uktinate S25 Ultra devices. However, that’s now about to change with users of older device also getting this hotly anticipated boost from next month.
In fact, One UI 7 – which is based on the latest Android 15 OS – will start arriving on phones such as the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Z Flip 6 from April 7, 2025.
This has been a strange launch for Samsung with the company usually releasing its latest operating systems much earlier. It’s unclear why One UI 7 has taken so long, but it could be because it features some big AI changes, which may have taken the Korean technology firm longer to test.

These new updates include the Now Bar, a persistent widget that Samsung says, “provides real-time updates that matter most right on the lock screen.
There’s also Drawing Assist to help you create usable images from rough finger sketches and Audio Eraser, which can help remove unwanted background noise from your videos – that means you’ll only hear your voice rather than the din around you.
Samsung has also confirmed that the update will deeper integrate Google Gemini ’s AI into your phone, so you can chat away with it like it’s a real person rather than a bot.
