Zara Tindall nailed autumn event dressing with her Cheltenham Festival, which included a surprisingly affordable bag in this season’s top trending colour
When it comes to a day at the races, no one does an outfit quite like Zara Tindall. The Royal always manages to nail the perfect combination of classy and sophisticated with a countryside twist, and her latest look is no exception.
Zara attended day two of The William Hill Showcase horse racing meeting at Cheltenham Racecourse in the perfect tonal outfit for autumn, with a pair of knee high leather boots, a tan overcoat and a chocolate brown polo neck top. But it was her accessories that pulled the look together, with the equestrian completing her outfit with a tan headband, brown sunglasses and Fairfax & Favor’s Rye Leather Crossbody Bag in a mahogany shade.

The crossbody bag is the latest addition to her roster of handbags from Fairfax & Favor, with Zara loving the brand’s designs so much that she became an official brand ambassador for it. Her boots also hailed from the brand, with Zara wearing the Regina Mahogany Leather High Heeled Knee-High Boots for the event.
Whilst the boots are a higher priced purchase at £465, her Rye Leather Crossbody Bag is much more affordable at £295 and is the perfect pick for autumn and winter. It comes in a black leather colourway, but Zara opted for the mahogany shade which is a deep, rich chocolate brown.
The bag is made from Fairfax & Favor’s premium leather, and has pared-back details which mean it’s a timeless investment. Although it’s perfect for nailing this autumn’s trends, it’s a bag that you can easily reach for season after season and year after year.
The Rye Leather Crossbody Bag comes with a detachable crossbody strap so you can carry it as a clutch, as a shoulder bag or across your body which Zara opted for. The envelope-style flap fastens with a magnetic closure, and there’s even a zip pocket inside to keep your essentials safely tucked away.
Another great option is Strathberry’s Mosaic Nano bag, which is one Kate Middleton is often seen carrying. A pricier pick at £425, Princess Kate often carries the white version, but it also comes in chocolate brown which is perfect for autumn.
Alternatively, Coach’s Tabby Chain Crossbody Bag 19 has a more similar price tag of £275, with brown, black and white colourways to choose from. It features a more statement-making gold C logo on the front, and comes with a detachable wrist strap and a detachable chain strap with 21.5″ drop which you can wear on your shoulder or as a crossbody.
