The third season finale of Bluey – an award-winning children’s animation – has struck a cord with parents all over the world, who say they’ve been left ‘complete wrecks’ after watching the emotional episode

A popular child’s TV show has left parents ‘complete wrecks’ following a rather tear-jerking episode.

Bluey, for those who don’t know, follows an enthusiastic Blue Heeler puppy who gets up to mischief with his younger sister, Bingo. The entire show is set in a canine-only universe but touches on some very human themes like the importance of family.

Set in Australia, the award-winning series has garnered a cult following since its inception in 2018 – with both adults and kids. To mark the end of the third season, an extra-long episode entitled The Sign was released last week – and has left many of us in bits.

Warning: if you haven’t yet watched it, this article contains some pretty big spoilers.

Bluey’s parents (Bandit and Chilli) decide to sell their family home in Brisbane, with plans to move to another city so the dad can accept a new job that makes more money. Of course, Bluey isn’t happy about this and sets out to derail the sale with his younger sibling.

The hectic episode is filled with a bunch of turns and twists, from a back-garden wedding to Bluey sitting in the front of a car for the first time and getting pulled over by police. But when viewers think the house has been sold, Bandit receives a phone call that changes their fate.

The episode ends with Bandit removing the For Sale sign from the front garden, implying that he his new job is no longer. It’s clear the final scene has touched a nerve with many parents who have been faced with a similar dilemma.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) one dad wrote: “As someone currently selling their house to move to another city, who has two kids the exact same age as Bluey and Bingo [and] didn’t know the storyline of The Sign before watching it… Thank you Bluey TV for leaving my wife and I complete wrecks this morning.”

Another agreed, commenting: “Yes I’m 19 and I watch Bluey. And yes I even cried watching The Sign.” A third added: “Watched Bluey The Sign and my heart aches, in a good way.” While a fourth penned: “I’m not joking when I say that Bluey The Sign is the best thing I’ve seen on television this year. Watch it!”

Bluey is available to stream on Disney+.
