Alexa Chung has launched her second capsule collection with Barbour in time for spring, and it’s full of cosy knitwear and waterproof jackets that are perfect for the new season
After the success of her A/W24 collection, Alexa Chung is back in the designer’s chair for a new spring range with outdoor brand Barbour. The model and presenter continues her role as the creative director and designer for Barbour’s newest iteration of The Edit by Alexa Chung, which is full of pieces to create the perfect capsule spring wardrobe.
Speaking about the collection, Alexa said: “I’m in love with the second collection I have designed for Barbour. I think the codes and language we have built together are now well established in that we create playful takes on Barbour’s heritage. My particular favourites in the collection are the bright yellow jacket and fire engine red raincoat. I really focused on colour and fun and I think that idea carried through to our camping trip themed shoot, with the legendary Tim Walker. This collection brings me so much joy and I hope you like it as much as I do.”

From cosy knitwear to jackets and coats designed to withstand the unpredictable British weather, The Edit by Alexa Chung is inspired by camping and Alexa’s iconic festival style. One stand out piece is the Anna Showerproof Bomber Jacket, which combines a classic bomber style jacket with Barbour’s signature showerproofing to create a look that’s both on trend and timeless.
The cord collar and light beige colour are reminiscent of a barn jacket – a style that is trending all over right now – and gives it that outdoorsy, laid back look. The Anna Showerproof Bomber Jacket features a tartan lining, a nod to Barbour’s classic designs, and has a showerproof cotton outer that’ll keep you dry in those unpredictable UK rainy spells.
The elasticated hem and cuffs help retain the oversize, relaxed fit that’s typical of a bomber jacket, whilst the cord collar can be left undone in a lapel style or fastened up around the neck with the throat guard. Front flap pockets and a zip fastening also help keep you warm and dry from the elements.
Other must-shop pieces from The Edit by Alexa Chung include the Sammie Knitted Cardigan, £299, and the Lizzy Showerproof Car Coat, £369. The cardigan is made from a soft pure wool with a classic cable knit finish, and comes in a charcoal grey colour with red trim and cream buttons.
The Lizzy Showerproof Car Coat is available in a bold red colour as well as lilac and beige, with a showerproof cotton material making it weather-resistant. It has a relaxed, straight fit that looks great paired with everything from jeans and wellies to midi dresses and loafers, and luxe-looking details including a storm shield, platter collar and oversized fluted sleeves.
You can shop the complete The Edit by Alexa Chung at the Barbour Website, or a selection of pieces from Liberty London.
If you prefer more of a classic barn jacket style, this Mid-Length Waxed Barn Jacket from Abercrombie & Fitch is £115 and comes in three colours – brown, green and tartan. It features a cord collar, a boxy silhouette and waxed coating that helps keep the rain at bay.
Meanwhile Whistles’ Black Fern Waxed Jacket is now on sale, down from £189 to £151.20. Come in a chic all-black colour, it’s the perfect combination of casual yet elevated.
