Alton Towers Resort has unveiled plans for the world’s first Bluey coaster, which will arrive at CBeebies Land.

The brand-new junior coaster will be themed on the TV phenomenon Bluey, which has garnered millions of fans around the world since launching in Australia in 2018. The wisdom of the Australian dog family has enchanted young and old, with both parents and children able to find joy in the antics of the Blue Heeler puppy, Bluey, and her younger sister, Bingo.

The Emmy Award-winning Bluey is the number one show on CBeebies in the UK and has been streamed over 770 million times since it launched on BBC iPlayer.

The ride is set to bring Bluey’s energy to young fans and families in Spring 2026. It will join Alton Towers Resort’s existing Bluey offerings, including the Heeler family meet-and-greet and live stage show.

The arrival of the ride follows the opening of the Bluey-themed hotel rooms in May 2024 as part of the resort’s 10-year anniversary celebrations for CBeebies Land.

After whizzing around on the Bluey coaster, fans can stay in the hotel rooms, which bring to life Bluey and Bingo’s bedroom.

Bluey is created and written by Joe Brumm and produced by the award-winning Ludo Studio for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation and BBC Studios Kids & Family. It is the latest name to join the fun-packed line-up of rides in CBeebies Land.

CBeebies Land includes rides such as Hey Duggee Big Adventure Badge, Andy’s Adventures Dinosaur Dig and JoJo & Gran Gran At Home, plus Go Jetters Vroomster Zoom ride, In the Night Garden Magical Boat Ride, Something Special Sensory Garden and Octonauts Rollercoaster Adventure.

Sabrina de Carvalho, senior vice president at Merlin Entertainments, said: “I’m excited to finally announce our new Bluey coaster in CBeebies Land at Alton Towers Resort – the first Bluey coaster in the world.

“We can’t wait to welcome Bluey fans and young families from all over the world to the resort. We’re keeping the exact details and launch date under wraps for now but Bluey’s limitless energy is sure to be reflected in our new junior coaster.”

The most recently opened new ride at Alton Towers is the Toxicator, which began lifting thrillseekers 78ft up in the air, spinning them round and round in the darkness, and then lowering them face down over a pool of toxic alien slime in March this year.

The Mirror’s Steve Wollaston decided to give it a go when it first opened. “It is the tallest ride of its kind as it is mounted on two platforms above the queue lines, something that builds up the suspense as you wait to experience it. The theming around the ride is incredible, and once again something that Alton Towers does so well. It is bathed in yellow and green lighting and looks spectacular from all angles,” he wrote.
