New devices are coming from Apple and here’s what could be revealed along with the date all fans need to know.

It’s been rumoured for months but it appears Apple is finally ready to unleash its next batch of shiny new gadgets. The US technology giant has just confirmed it will be holding a major launch event on Tuesday, May 7 and looks certain it will be all about the iPad. Invites sent out media have included an illustration of the famous Apple logo which has been created using a hand holding the Apple Pencil stylus. That’s an accessory that only works on iPad so there’s not much detective work needed to decipher what products will soon be unveiled.

Apple’s CEO has also posted a message on X (formerly Twitter ) which simply says, “Pencil us in for May 7!” All that hints to a blockbuster iPad unveiling.

Another reason why we expect the May keynote to feature tablets is the fact they weren’t refreshed at all in 2023 – something that’s highly usual. With an iPad update now long overdue, the spring would be a perfect time to showcase something new.

Apple’s big ‘Let loose’ event will kick off from 7am at its headquarters in Cupertino, California – that means UK consumers will be able to watch the event from 3pm BST.

Of course, Apple won’t reveal details until the day itself but there have already been plenty of rumours about what we can expect to see announced.

It’s thought that Apple will launch a new iPad Air and an upgrade to the more premium iPad Pro to include a pin-sharp OLED screen.

These devices could also get faster M3 processors – that’s the same speedy chip found inside Apple’s latest MacBook laptops. Much longer battery life plus quicker refilling could all be headline features along with new colours and possibly a refreshed design.

A bunch of improved accessories such as keyboard cases and the Apple Pencil could also be announced. As we mentioned earlier, the fact that the invite features Apple’s stylus so prominently is clearly a big indication that this popular way of interacting with the screen could soon be upgraded.

Mirror Online will be bringing you all the news live from this event so watch this space.
