Riding high from the glory of qualifying for a Champions League semi-final, Arsenal will now have to return their focus to back-to-back Premier League matches. The Gunners face Ipswich Town on Sunday, with a midweek clash against Crystal Palace to quickly follow before another European adventure.

Defeat against the Tractor Boys could see Arsenal hand Liverpool the Premier League title, and while the north London side have scant chance of achieving glory in the division themselves, they will hope to build momentum heading into a semi-final match against Paris Saint-Germain.

Mikel Arteta will want to navigate the games with good performances and avoid adding to his injury list. The likes of Gabriel Magalhaes, Gabriel Jesus, Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kai Havertz have already been ruled out for the season.

Mirror Football takes a look at the latest Arsenal news and rumours.

Concrete transfer interest

Reports in Germany claim Arsenal have concrete interest in a move for Bayern Munich star Kingsley Coman. The north London side are said to face competition from Liverpool who have shortlisted the France international.

The German giants are hoping to land Luis Henrique but first want to cut down their squad for fresh faces. Leroy Sane is expected to remain at the Allianz Arena but Coman seems set to not be offered a new contract.

Creating history

Arsenal set out to create history against Real Madrid and are now dreaming of Champions League glory according to goalkeeper David Raya. The Spanish shotstopper knows the Gunners have a difficult task ahead but is adamant his side stand a chance.

“It’s a real statement, it’s great the way we beat Madrid twice and, coming to the Bernabeu, the way we played, the way we defended, and pressing high the way we were very attacking minded,” he said.

“It’s been very long since this club was in the semi-final but we are here to create our own history and hopefully we can dream and we are going to try everything in our hands to do it. But the main thing is going step by step and staying in the present.

“We knew it was out there because it’s Real Madrid, it’s part of the history. But we said ‘we are here to create our own history’ and that’s what we did, the way we came to the Bernabeu and the way we played, the way we defended, the way we created chances.

“We kept them quiet and in the second half, they created chances and they took one and we took our chances and we won the game and credit to us. It was a very complete match from us and we played very good.”

Star at risk of ban

Real Madrid’s Dani Carvajal faces a UEFA ban over his altercation with Bukayo Saka at half-time of his side’s Champions League defeat to Arsenal.

Injured right-back Carvajal accosted Saka and raised his hands towards the England star as he headed to the dressing rooms. The Spaniard put his hand on Saka’s neck prompting the Gunners winger to retaliate before the pair were quickly surrounded by staff members from both teams.

Saka was stopped going down the tunnel by the suspended Real Madrid star

Carvajal, who has been sidelined since October with an ACL injury, had been watching the match from the stands but could now face a four-match ban, per reports. The veteran was not part of the Los Blancos squad and as a result was not permitted to be in the technical area during the game, breaching UEFA rules/

He could now face a ban similar to the one handed out to the former Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso, who ran from the stands to celebrate his side’s Champions League final win over Atletico Madrid in 2014. Alonso was suspended from the final and not permitted to head pitchside, and he was ultimately banned for the UEFA Super Cup final against Sevilla.
