Kepa Arrizabalaga could be on his way out of Arsenal just three months after joining from Chelsea, in a surprising turn of events. The Gunners secured the services of the goalkeeper at the Emirates Stadium this summer, activating his £5million release clause.

Kepa had spent the previous season on loan at Bournemouth, following a stint at Real Madrid. He was brought in as back-up for David Raya and made his debut for the club against Port Vale in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night.

The Spaniard kept a clean sheet, aiding Mikel Arteta’s side to a comfortable 2-0 victory. Kepa was one of eight new faces at the club this summer, with Martin Zubimendi, Viktor Gyokeres, and Noni Madueke all already proving their worth.

However, Kepa’s game time is expected to be limited, with his involvement likely to be in cup competitions. In an unexpected twist, it has been reported that former Arsenal star Cesc Fabregas is keen to bring the goalkeeper to Como in Serie A.

Sports Boom suggests that Fabregas wants the 30 year old to be his new first-choice keeper, reports Football London. The report indicates that the Italian side hopes the project in Lombardy can ‘lure’ Kepa and persuade him to make a move in January.

After four matches, Como sits on seven points and is tipped to challenge for Europe this season. Over the summer, they brought in Alex Valle from Barcelona, Nicolas Kuhn from Celtic, Maximo Perrone from Manchester City and Jesus Rodriguez from Real Betis.

Jean Butez is currently Fabregas’ first-choice goalkeeper after joining from Royal Antwerp in January. However, it’s unlikely that Kepa will be eager to leave the Emirates Stadium in the near future.

After his move from Chelsea, the shot-stopper spoke about his desire to contribute to Arteta’s vision of bringing success to the club. “We’re here to win. I think we have a great team,” he stated.

“I think we have great staff around here, the best facilities, so we have to prepare ourselves for this season and to have success. When I talk with Mikel [Arteta] and Inaki [Cana], they show me their desire to win.

“They showed me this ambition, how much they want to improve, how much they want to grow and I’m really here to help, to push and to win more.”
