Arsenal are firmly focused on securing silverware this season but must overcome PSG and still have Premier League concerns with their attention soon to be on the transfer market
Arsenal are gearing up for the biggest match of their season in two days time. The Gunners must overcome a first leg deficit when they travel to Frances to take on Paris Saint-Germain hoping to keep their dreams of silverware alive.
Mikel Arteta didn’t make too many changes in the hopes of retaining momentum against Bournemouth and it backfired. PSG meanwhile rotated and also came up short in Ligue 1.
Arsenal’s Premier League slip ensures their place in the Champions League next year is still not mathematically secure and they may not finish as the division’s runners-up. For the moment, overcoming PSG will be all that is on the agenda however.
No doubt there will be some at the Emirates with their eyes on the summer. There is less than a month until the Gunners will see their first opportunity to complete a transfer.
Mirror Football takes a look at the latest news and transfer rumours around north London.

Midfield exit expected
Jorginho will leave Arsenal in the summer and has made it clear to the Gunners he is not interest in a renewal of his deal, per reports. The Italy midfielder is currently out of action with a chest injury and is set to see his contract expire this summer.
There are said to be no talks between the parties, and Jorginho’s injury could yet see him not play for the club again. The ex-Chelsea star has been strongly linked with a move to Brazil come the summer.
It has been claimed that Jorginho has already signed a pre-contract agreement with Flamengo.
Sesko interest
Benjamin Sesko is drawing plenty of interest ahead of a possible summer move, and Arsenal remain among the contenders. The north London side hope to sign a forward and the RB Leipzig striker has been a long-term target.
The Gunners are said to face competition from Liverpool and Chelsea, with Newcastle and Manchester United also maintaining contact with star’s representatives. Sesko is reported to be relaxed about his future but could lean towards a move to Arsenal.
Scouts were present to watch Sesko score against Bayern Munich at the weekend.
Costly decision
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has been told that he left his team with no cutting edge after taking Declan Rice off in their 2-1 defeat at home to Bournemouth. Rice scored to put the Gunners ahead in the 34th minute of Saturday’s Premier League clash.
“You take Declan Rice out of the equation of this team and you’ve got a group of players bereft of confidence and ideas on how to score goals and have an incisive edge,” Green concluded on BBC Radio 5 Live. “There’s work to do and so little time to do it,” he added regarding Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final second leg against Paris Saint-Germain.
