Arsenal are up and running in the summer transfer window – and even bigger deals are in the pipeline following the unveiling of Martin Zubimendi over the weekend.

The Gunners have paid Real Sociedad around £55million to sign the talented playmaker, who becomes the club’s second summer signing after Kepa Arrizabalaga. With talks advancing with Sporting Lisbon over Viktor Gyokeres, more good news for Arsenal fans could be just around the corner.

Gyokeres has emerged as Arsenal’s top striker target this summer but further reinforcements in other areas are still wanted.

That includes in midfield, where the Brentford captain, Christian Norgaard, is poised to follow Zubimendi through the door.

Here, Mirror Football rounds up all the latest transfer news from in and around The Emirates…

New Gyokeres meeting

Andrea Berta, Arsenal’s new sporting director, is understood to have flown to Portugal towards the end of last week in order to hold face-to-face talks over a deal for Viktor Gyokeres.

The Gunners are in talks with Sporting Lisbon over a £70m transfer for the Sweden star, who has been linked with a move to the Premier League for months. He is now Arsenal’s priority target in their search for a new No 9 despite interest in Benjamin Sesko.

And BBC Sport say Berta travelled to Portugal for further talks with Sporting as both clubs work on a deal.

Arsenal are poised to confirm the capture of Brentford captain Christian Norgaard in the coming days.

News of an agreement with Brentford for Norgaard broke last week with the Dane set to bolster Arsenal’s options in midfield alongside fellow newcomer Martin Zubimendi.

And The Standard report that Norgaard’s move from Brentford – thought to be worth around £15m – is on track to be completed shortly.

Arsenal work on Eze deal

Arsenal are working on a payment structure which would help them land Eberechi Eze from Crystal Palace as they prepare to launch an official bid for the attacking midfielder.

The Independent report that the Gunners are trying to put together a package that will enable them to sign Eze, who favours a move to The Emirates if he is to depart the FA Cup winners this summer.

Eze has a release clause in his contract and Arsenal want to pay three instalments of around £20m to their Premier League rivals.
