What now for Arsenal? The Gunners have finally completed the signing of Viktor Gyokeres, ending the summer’s biggest transfer saga so far.

Arsenal announced his £63.7million transfer on Saturday and now they can move on to other priorities. Even after Gyokeres’ arrival and the signing of Noni Madueke, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is still looking for refresh his attack.

Plenty of names have been bandied about, including that of Real Madrid winger Rodrygo and Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers. But Eberechi Eze appears to be Arsenal’s top target, as they aim to bring the Crystal Palace playmaker back after releasing him as a teenager.

But it’s not all about incomings, with their spending already close to the £200m mark. The Gunners will have to sanction departures before the summer transfer window closes on September 1 while they’re also working on contract renewals.

Saliba reveals contract stance

William Saliba says that he’ll ‘hopefully’ sign a new contract with Arsenal. Saliba’s current deal expires in 2027 and the Gunners are keen to tie him down for the long term like centre-back partner Gabriel Magalhaes, who’s under contract for four more years.

Asked during Arsenal’s pre-season tour of Asia whether he was going to sign a new deal, the 24-year-old Frenchman confirmed: “Yeah, hopefully. Of course there is nothing now but there is a good conversation with my agent and the club. Let’s see.”
