The colourful garden additions have been spotted on shop shelves by supermarket customers – and they seem very similar

Asda shoppers could get their hands on an item that looks like a viral Home Bargains product, sure to be in many gardens this summer. Buyers say it adds a “magical” touch with its soft glow.

Home Bargains recently showcased the return of its hot air balloon-inspired solar lights on social media. Savvy shoppers had already spoken about he £3.99 find that “will look good in any garden” and add a touch of personality to fences, walls and trees.

But, Asda is also providing shoppers with its own version – just in case your local Home Bargains does not have any left in stock. A shopper called Danielle posted her find in the Extreme Bargains and Couponing Facebook group.

She said the lights were £5 each and showed what they look like in action, with a flickering flame inside the balloon – giving off an enchanting glow to make any garden feel cosy. Plenty of people commented on the £5 alternative.

One said: “These would look so magical all around a garden!” Another added: “So cool. I’ve been looking for more of these. Seen them online but more expensive!”

A third confirmed: “I’ve got these. They’re so pretty when switched on at night.” Someone else commented: “I want to fill my whole garden with these. So gorgeous!”

People have claimed the Asda version is a little bigger than the Home Bargains balloons. Some said they were able to mix and match the two styles with plans to create a “lovely” light display once the weather warms up.

Shoppers cannot purchase these hot air balloon solar lights online or via click-and-collect, so you’ll need to visit your nearest store and hope for the best. You can browse Asda’s range of garden products online here.

If you can’t hang any lights in your garden, Home Bargains has an alternative to the soaring balloons. Instead, for the same £3.99 price, shoppers could pick up stakes to plant in their lawn, flower beds or wherever there is suitable space.

You could also try B&M as the store has its own version of a hot air balloon solar light in stock from £4. There was also an XL version for £8 too.
