The festive season is all about those warm, cosy and inviting scents, and there’s no reason the same shouldn’t apply to your perfume. A rich and spicy fragrance is a must for the Christmas season, and we might have just found the perfect one to add to your perfume collection.

Avon has launched its newest scent, Ginger Blaze, which joins fragrances like Bamboozie Cocktail, Choco Tuberose and Peppery Peaches in the brand’s Perfect Nonsense fragrance line. As well as being a gorgeous Christmassy scent, it’s a great alternative if you’ve been eyeing up Jo Malone’s London Ginger Biscuit Cologne but haven’t quite been able to afford the splurge.

Whilst Jo Malone’s cologne is £128 for a 100ml bottle, the Avon Ginger Blaze costs just £13 for 50ml. That means it would only cost £26 if you snapped up two bottles to get 100mls worth – a whopping £102 cheaper than Jo Malone.

The Avon scent was created with clashing ingredients that really shouldn’t work together, but somehow result in a unique and spicy scent, without smelling like a scented candle. It combines the sharp warmth of ginger with more earthy, calming notes of hay for an unexpectedly great match.

Avon also offers a shower gel in the same scent, as well as a bundle that gets you them both together, which helps layer the scent up and make it last longer. You can pick up the Ginger Blaze either via Avon representatives or online, so it’s easy to get your hands on it.

Some other great spicy scents for the Christmas period include Prada’s Infusion de Gingembre Eau de Parfum, which is now £120 down from £150 at Boots and combines ginger and musks for a deep, earthy scent. Another splurge is Goldfield & Banks Ingenious Ginger Eau de Parfum which you can nab for £140 at LookFantastic, with notes of ginger, vanilla and jasmine.

For a more affordable pick, Marks & Spencer’s Warmth Eau de Parfum is just £12 for 50ml, with notes of cardamom, cinnamon, cedarwood and sandalwood. One reviewer said: “Lovely fragrance, very similar to a far more expensive La Labo one. This doesn’t last quite as long but at this price point you can spray with gay abandon.”

Avon’s Ginger Blaze on the other hand is such a new launch that it has yet to rack up any reviews. However other Avon fragrances have been praised for how long lasting they are, with one saying about the Perfect Nonsense Choco Tuberose Eau de Parfum: “I love the scent of this perfume. It lasts very long.”

Another said: “This perfume is gorgeous. It lasts longer on me than a lot of other designer perfumes, which is a big selling point. The fragrance is beautiful and it’s my new Go To perfume! I will be buying again & trying the other two.”

However one reviewer wrote: “I’d say the price suits the perfume as it doesn’t smell expensive. It’s more of an everyday budget friendly scent.”
