The Apprentice star Tre Lowe has shared the happy news he is to become a dad as wife Enas Daeki, 34, is pregnant with their first child

An Apprentice star has revealed he’s expecting his first child at the age of 50.

Tre Lowe appeared on the BBC show earlier this year in a bid to promote his wellness business and ended up reaching the final five. But eagle-eyed fans may have recognised he was also in Noughties garage act Architechs, who had a huge hit in the year 2000 with the song Body Groove.

Now he’s set to become a dad after announcing his 34-year-old wife Enas Daeki is pregnant. And he has even joked that Lord Alan Sugar could end up being their baby’s godfather.

Describing his happy news as an ‘absolute blessing’ Tre, who married Enas last summer, opened up on becoming a father later in life and admitted he worried he had left it too late.

He told MailOnline: “‘I’m going to turn 50 in January and even my family make jokes about, “Oh, you’re going to be an old dad, and you’re not going to be able to play football.”

‘And I must admit every now and then, in my weaker moments, I say, ‘Oh, my God, have I left it too late?’ because people tend to think it’s women who think about that biological clock, but I’ll tell you that men think of it too. I do think about it, because when my child is going to university, I’m going to be like 70 or 71! And by the time it graduates I’m going to be like 75.’

Though Tre is fit for his age, he says he would have loved to have become a dad at 30, but it didn’t happen then. Now he’s older, he hopes he can bring emotional as well as financial stability to his new family when their baby is finally born.

He added: “I think there’s a lot of wisdom and things that you can give to a child at 50 that you couldn’t have done at a younger age. So there’s always benefits, I think, no matter what. I think we’re in that age now where age doesn’t matter anymore. In that way I think you can do what you want and be what you want at any age, and I certainly believe I can be a great father at 50, and beyond.”

Tre just missed out on the final when he was fired in the penultimate episode of this year’s series of The Apprentice, which aired at the beginning of the year. Boutique gym owner Rachel Woolford that walked away with the £250,000 investment from Lord Sugar.
