This week has been busy when it comes to tech deals. Our Commerce Content Editor has rounded up the latest from Sky, Samsung, Virgin Media, and Amazon and picked out the discounts, and even freebies, shoppers can make the most of.

Shopping ‘sales’ seem to have a lesser impact than the buzz and anticipation, as in previous times, discounts and daily deals stakes can make it tricky to know when a new price is genuinely the best. It’s been a busy week for Sky, Samsung, Virgin Media, and Apple iPad shoppers as a flurry of new deals have been unveiled.

Having scoured a multitude of deal events and sale seasons it’s easy to spot when an ‘offer’ is exactly as the word suggests – good value for money. That can be said for a few key brands, as we’ve compared the prices.

For billpayers looking for TV and broadband updates Sky has brought back one of its cheapest prices, Virgin Media is handing out free iPads, and Samsung shoppers get a cheaper deal on the S25

Sky’s cheaper TV and broadband price is back

Sky has brought back it’s cheaper price on the Essential TV and Full Fibre 150 plan – a bundle which combines TV streaming and broadband into one concise bill. At first glance, it doesn’t look too ‘wow’ with only a £5 per month saving – as the price drops to £35 per month – however, across the full 24-month plan it’s a saving of £120.

Virgin Media ‘hands out’ Apple iPad for £0 – here’s how

A deal we had to take a double look at when we first saw it, as Virgin Media has finally switched it up from its free TV or bill credit offer – which are good, but they got repetitive (in our opinion). Now, anyone who upgrades to one particular package will get an Apple iPad for free.

The plan includes web access at over 1Gbps, 230 TV channels, Sky Sports and Sky Cinema, one of the provider’s heftier TV plans. There are a few key things to note. It’s only for shoppers who buy the Mega Volt Bundle plan and we can’t say how long this will be around for as it’s a ‘while stocks last’ offer – it’s also not the newest model of iPad but the 9th Generation edition from 2021.

This launched in the same week as Apple unveiled its newer iPad Air devices, which are now available to buy at Sky and split the cost with its monthly plan.

Save hundreds on S25 bill

For this deal, we’re turning away from Samsung (for a moment) and Sky Mobile, as the provider launches a pretty good deal on its Galaxy S25 Ultra – as the price is cut by hundreds of pounds.

The deal can be found on the S25 Ultra 5G plan, for those who pick the 256GB device. Locking into a 36-month contract shoppers will pay a cheaper £42 per month instead of the usual £48. We’ve looked at what other retailers have to offer and Sky’s plan – despite its lengthy 36-month contract, which we aren’t a fan of – is more affordable than some.

For instance, Carphone Warehouse sells the same device for £39.99 per month, and that’s with an upfront cost of £29.

Amazon selling iPad 10th Gen for £269

Another one for Apple fans, and something that’s been proving really popular with shoppers. Amid the launch of the new iPad Air that’s on sale at Sky for £17 per month – older devices are dropping in price. We’ve already seen Virgin Media hand out a free 9th generation iPad with its specific TV bundle.

Well, if you don’t want to commit to a TV plan to get a free iPad but also don’t want to buy the newest 2025 device, then Amazon is your go-to. It has cut the price of the 10th generation iPad to £269 – a rare price for the 64GB device. We can see this is a worthy deal thanks to CamelCamelCamel, where its history shows it’s previously sold for more than £350.
