The high street is serving major ‘tenniscore’ energy – here are six must-have items to ace the trend
With the Wimbledon Championships officially underway, fashion fans have the perfect chance to embrace the “tenniscore” trend. The stylish sport event sees many guests donning elegant styles, from summer dresses to smart blazers.
But this year brings Wimbledon’s most extensive collection to date with 174 pieces, including performance wear and lifestyle.
Athleisure brand like lululemon and Asics have also dropped Wimbledon collections that offer sporty inspired designs, such as pleated skirts and tennis caps.

Official Wimbledon Collection
Wimbledon senior designer Emily Adams told us that their side-stripe tracksuit is “key from this year’s collection”. With navy and white as options, the Straight Leg Stripe Track Pants, £95, is one item that caught her eyes.
She said: “The track pant looks great when styled back with tailoring such as a stripe shirt and relaxed blazer. We love that it can be worn together for a head-to-toe co-ord, or as separates, creating some really versatile looks.” Nike’s windrunner trackpant in khaki beige is also a stylish piece loved shoppers and it’s now reduced to £56.50 on ASOS.
The Knit Mini Skirt in cream, £75 is an upgrade from the sporty pleated skirt and it features bold Wimbledon club stripes at the waistand. For men, there’s a few oversizes graphic tees such as this Cotton Tennis Court Print T-Shirt, £45.
Mint Velvet’s White Tennis Graphic T-Shirt, £45, features a tennis racquet at the back with a “Soho Tennis Club” slogan.

The Swedish fashion brand has launched new sport collection in time for tennis season. Shoppers can expect skirts, £19.99, with a high, elasticated waist, and a slit on one side. It can be paired with a cardigan or loose sweatshirt.
Shoppers can add the Medium Support Sports bra with SoftMove, £12.99. Crafted with functional fabric to provide softness and comfort, it’s great for any workout. Fitness fans might be also interested in GymShark’s sports bras – they are available in low, medium and high support, as well as different colour options.
Lululemon Varsity High-Rise Pleated Tennis Skirt, £44-£65
The Canadian athleisure brand’s Varsity High-Rise Pleated Tennis Skirt has returned for a second year.
With the Cascadia Green reduced to £44 and six other colours retailed at £65, the tennis skirt’s weightless pleates make it easier to wear and it comes with built-in shorts, delivering distraction-free coverage.
The lightweight Swift fabric offers moisture-wicking technology to keep the wearer cool during intense matches. Designed as a high-rise fit, the skirt also has drop-in pockets to keep the tennis ball secure and silicone grippers on the hem prevent ride-up. But one customer said the skirt is “too short” and “the pleats also crease very quicky”.
For those who prefer a wrap-effect, the Wrap-Front Mid-Rise Tennis Skirt, £78, has a ballet-inspired silhouette and a side bow detail. Tala’s DayFlex Logo Pleated Skort (£48) is a more affordable option with wide pleats and a comfortable waistband with an embroidered logo.
Antler Reversible Tote Bag, £90
British luggage brand Antler has dropped its summer capsule collection and this Reversible Tote Bag is as versatile to take on the court as it is in the city. Echoeing the signature ‘Antler Green’ with the sharp lines of traditional lawn attire, the monochromatic elements of the cream and black deliver a sporty yet tailored look.
The tote bag comes with two handles and shoppers can wear it on the shoulder or carry it by hand. The fabric is lightweight and water-repellent and it holds everything from beach towels and ball games to Antler’s limited edition Tennis Racket Cover.
Flip over to the otherside gives the all-black hue for a subtle everyday look, the bag measures 34 x 57 x 18 cm with a capacity of 35 litres. On the other hand, Osprey’s The Voyage Nylon Tote is now discounted from £120 to £45, it’s now reversible comes with a zipper for security. Fenwick has also reduced Lauren by Ralph Lauren’s faux leather reversible tote from £219 to £109.50.
Boden Amy Sleeveless Shirt Dress, £116
Shirt dresses are one of the quinessential looks in Wimbledon fashion and Boden has added a playful tennis print to its Amy Sleeveless Shirt Dress.
The fit and flare dress shape is flattering and ideal for wearing to garden soirées and summer outings, the 100% cotton dress is designed to fall at mid-calf and feautres side seam pockets to keep anything small and essential.
The joy-inducing style also gives the wearer a choice to wear with or without a self fabric belt. One shopper shared: “I bought this in the white. It looks really chic. I went up a size. I can be between a 12 and 14 but went 14 and it looks great. Flattering and lovely with tennis shoes or nice sandals.”
Yumi’s Blue Striped Sleeveless Midi Shirt Dress is also very on-trend for courtside fashion and Debenhams has dropped the price from £58 to £44.60. It has a complementing collar and classy button detailing wth a fitted waist for added elegance, style with trainers for a relaxed fit.
