A woman’s body was found in an outside swimming pool in Bilston, Birmingham, earlier this morning, sparking a police investigation as enquiries continue this afternoon

Police are investigating after a woman’s body was found in an outside swimming pool this morning, as members of the public are urged to get in touch with any information.

West Midlands Police were called to the scene in Bilston, Birmingham, at around 9am today when the alarm was first raised in the area. Investigations into the incident are currently ongoing as officers have called on members of the public to get in contact with any information which may assist enquiries. The identity of the woman has not been revealed and officers say her death is being treated as unexplained.

A spokesperson for the force said: “The body of a woman was found in a pool off Prouds Lane, Bilston, at around 9am.

“We attended along with the fire service and paramedics but the woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“Her death is currently being treated as unexplained as we continue enquiries to establish what has happened.
